Congratulations to her. Saskatchewan is an unusually cold region of Canada and requires so much energy to survive during winter. |

ebosie11: Deola is her name and not Adebola and has been a genius since our secondary school days at Mokola Ibadan where we grew up. She was devastated when she lost her equally genius elder sister Omoleye few years ago. |

First of all, I'm a black person, I'm a Nigerian and I'm from Yoruba tribe. Now to the topic. What's so special about having a phd in a program that it has to make a frontpage in the most popular forum in Nigeria? We need to stop all these celebration of mediocrity. She is the first black to have phd in biomedical engineering from Canada (which I'm very sure is not true) and so freaking what. I can bet with anyone that there are many blacks that would have had phd in biomedical engineering before June 2017 University of Toronto McGill University of BC Queens University University of Montreal University of Alberta Waterloo etc. All offer doctorate in biomedical engineering. Are you now telling me none of those schools have ever had black graduate before now? This is not something worth celebrating abeg and very ridiculous to see people jubilating on this 4 Likes 1 Share |

janefrancisca: hahahahaha, I am not a nice person, trust me, it's better to not quote me if u are to low to understand, because whenever i descend to low people's standard to deal with their inability to understand me... they find it difficult to ever rise again trust me.. you should just pass. |

sshalom: There are many Nigerians in Regina and Saskatoon. There is nothing unusual about the cold in Saskatchewan. You dress warm for the weather, live in a heated house and drive a heated car. No big deal |

slurryeye2:It is something for her to celebrate she have reach her goal but there are Nigerians kid under 24 with PHD I can tell you before 1996 there was very few Nigerian that will go out there (Saskatoon) |
Re: Adebola Olubamiji: First Black To Get PhD In Biomedical Engineering In Canada by slurryeye2: 6:38pm On Jun 08, 2017 |
GoodFaith: Of course it is something for her to celebrate, but not something of national celebration like it is a big deal to have a phd, and surely not something one tribe should be taunting another with I live in Canada and I have been to Saskatchewan before. Trust me I have met and seen Nigerians that have done things worth talking about. Last year a Nigerian was in top 7 of Masterchef Canada. 2 years ago, a Nigerian duo of father and daughter were in top 5 of Amazing race Canada and many other feats like these but still they are still not worth jubilating about |

GoodFaith: Are you trying to imply that you have been in Canada for over 30 years? If so, congrats to you And for clarity, I'm not trying to tell you a zilch about Canada. All I'm saying is, someone getting a phd shouldn't be celebrated as a national achievement. |

Re: Adebola Olubamiji: First Black To Get PhD In Biomedical Engineering In Canada by salford1: 7:20pm On Jun 08, 2017 |
slurryeye2: She is the first black Phd recipient in Biomedical engineering from the universtity of saskatchewan. She did not make the claim for the whole of Canada. It is definitely worth celebrating. She is an inspiration to many minorities especially women and young girls in Saskatchewan, Canada and those from poor background in Nigeria. |
