The issue is that in Nigerian banks, police stay outside bank premises making it easy for robbers to launch attack on them before going for their target.

3 police were killed because it was easy for the robbers to target them on sight but it's not something easy for a police officer who wasn't expecting such.

I expect banks to have a place where police stay inside the building (give them access to CCTV) then they can counter the robbers with zero or no casualty. Keeping them outside makes them vulnerable to ambush.

That nigga is a fool, trying to breach a closed corner like that? I just hope that officer wasn't among those killed. He really tried .

The police guy was said to have died in April.

Nice analysis.

Two things I thought the Mopol did wrong

1. He was hasty. He didn't do a quick analysis of the situation before he started firing. This is not unexpected as I feel he was gittery and trying to scare them.

His shots were uncoordinated and haphazard.

2. He left his cover too soon. He had a good vantage point to take out the driver and person behind him but I guess he just didn't have his mindset prepared for that. After taking out the first guy, I presume he still had 20-50 rounds left given he had 2 regular magazine.

That would have been enough to cause great damage to the guys since they had no serious cover.

All in all he tried based on his level of training.

This should be a wake up call for the NPF on the need for regular training of their men. Its not just enough to strap guys with ARs, if they don't fully understand how to use it, it would amount to a waste.

This security man was at vantage position to take out the driver and the passenger @ the back, but he bailed for his life killing one.....I then now thought of how many ammo he had left in his magazine.

Video footage of owerri bank robbery February 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o_fu8oiZzQ

This is officially the dumbest armed bank heist I have ever seen.

They attempted a heist using a single car? A Hyundai of all cars?... Secondly, they made their intentions known immediately? Look at how they shoot, who planned this?

Well, I'm glad the guard was quick to fire and overall he survived.

He didn't have any more ammo, my bet would be less than 15. He's not carrying anything extra. He's not even wearing protection or tactical gear and for that I would blame his employer.

Leaving his cover was an instict because he knew they'll come for it while he was out, I personally wouldn't judge him for that.. Good training is not useful if he doesn't have the right tools for the job.

Is it for the Air force or the civilian market, because if it is for the Air Force so why are we building a plane of the same class with yankes ?

My guess is primarily civilian, but could be used as a light military transport.

You are talking to an individual who actually knows what it requires and how to react in that sort of situation.

Souljaboi1's analysis of the situation is spot on.

Unfortunately the policeman lost his life in April, that incident happened back in february.

Policemen do not go about wearing tactical gears in the streets. It is not an SOP for your regular policeman. Also each Nigerian police man carries a minimum of 60 rounds of ammo.

Your analysis is very dumb, no offence intended.

The police instead of going back to the drawing board were still making funny comments. The Policeman was brave, however the Nigeria police has to do way more.

The banks themselves who already make so much money, need to replace security guard posts with the bulletproof type posts offered by companies such as Proforce.

I just read a report saying they were 3 officers in the guard post. 2 were injured in the crossfire and he was the one who died.

If this report is true, then I am less impressed with how they managed the situation.

Each Mopol moves around with at least 2 magazine of 30 rounds ammo. The total shot from the police post was less than 20 and they were not coordinated.

I don't know if this qualifies as CQB and if the NPF trains for that, but I strongly believe they could have done better.

The policemen/security guard is:

- Not wearing uniform or tactical kit or protection
- Not carrying any extra magazine, it's clearly visible.

He fired half his magazine. In case you didn't know, you fire 30 rounds in just 5 seconds in automatic mode - I don't expect you to know because you have never fired a bullet in your life.... So it took him roughly 15 rounds to kill 1 guy, how do you think he should have stayed in the unprotected room with the door open? The rest of the man would have killed him.

Your own analysis is typically Henry120 ie you don't analyse at all.

Trash is your broken upper incisor tooth..

The man fought a handful armed robbers on his own, without protection, without any help. Then you come with your so-called analysis and bloody SOP.

Meaning he was likely off-duty on the day of the robbery.

Cops do not go about wearing tactical gears in the streets.

He had cover, including those in the building, there was a vantage point.

His weapon was not firing on full auto.

Cops deployed in Nigerian banks carry a minimum of 60 rounds.

Souljaboi1's analysis of the situation was completely spot-on.

The policeman was brave, the robbers have all been caught, but there were gaps.

First: by cover you mean? The room without reinforced glass that had doors open?

Secondly: why was he in the security room with a rifle if he was off duty?

Thirdly: do you know the difference between semiautomatic and automatic mode? Because you seem not to know it. Then see how glass is smashed in the Hyundai then you tell me which mode he fired on.

Fourthly: We haven't seen the extra ammo you keep talking about.

Till then, the policemen/security did a very good job given the situation he found himself in.

OUTGOING US DEFENCE ATTACHÉ PAYS FAREWELL VISIT TO CAS

The cordial relationship between the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the United States of America (USA) was a subject of discussion when the outgoing US Defence Attaché (DA) in Nigeria, Colonel Patrick Doyle, paid a farewell visit to the NAF Headquarters in Abuja on 9 June 2017. Speaking on the relationship, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar recalled that the USA had been very supportive of the NAF in its fight against terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria. The CAS particularly commended the outgoing DA for his dedication to duty and his apparent efforts to boost the NAF and US relationship, urging him to continue in the same vein in his future engagements. Air Marshal Abubakar then maintained that beyond military campaigns, the NAF would continue to render humanitarian support to IDPs.

He had the right tools. He was well armed. He's on mufti due to where he was being deployed. His uniform will make him an easy target

He's on mufti because of some reasons, I guess he's off duty already. His trousers isn't that of his uniform meaning he's ready to go home.

A brief look at the Aircraft we might soon start assembling in Nigeria.

The Indonesian Aerospace N-219 is a twin-engine, 19-seater transport aircraft designed by Indonesian Aerospace for multi-purpose missions in remote areas.[2] It is intended to operate in and out of remote, semi-prepared airstrips.

General characteristics

Crew: 2
Capacity: 19 passengers
Length: 54 ft 1 in (16.49 m)
Wingspan: 64 ft 0 in (19.5 m)
Height: 20 ft 3 in (6.18 m)
Empty weight: 9,500 lb (4,309 kg)
Max takeoff weight: 15,498 lb (7,030 kg)
Powerplant: 2 × Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-42 turboprop engines, 850 shp (630 kW) each
Propellers: 4-bladed Hartzell Propeller
Performance

Cruise speed: 210 kn (242 mph; 389 km/h)
Stall speed: 59 kn (68 mph; 109 km/h)
Range: 840 nmi (967 mi; 1,556 km)
Service ceiling: 10,000 ft (3,000 m) operating altitude, max altitude 24,000 feet (7,315 m)
Rate of climb: 1,938 ft/min (9.85 m/s)

I'm confused undecided. How did you jump from an article stating MOU signed to make PARTS in Nigeria (not even knowing what those parts may be) to you stating this aircraft might soon be assembled in Nigeria? How did you make that massive jump? Is this a personal wish list of yours or is there another link you haven't posted?

So you pulled that statement out of your bow.els and justified it to yourself by adding "might"? Anything might happen anywhere....India might land on the moon one day. No your comment was a border line blatant lie. You should have rather said you personally wish or hope Nigeria can start assembling that aircraft soon. Look at the other people who replied to that post, they were under the impression that Nigeria CAN actually assemble such an aircraft soon...when it can't. You are being nothing but a fraud.
