goldfish80: Try and learn not to assume when not sure...and is it not the masterclass subs made by roah that has won us this match? If iwobi was still on this match but moved to the middle to get more of the ball we could atleast hope to come back, the sub was what killed this game. |

OMANBALA1:I think the biggest test of the team was Algeria, not this team. Completely outclassed? Nah, I don't think so. I didn't watch the game, but the first half had more of us than them, so completely is a little extreme. They got a goal, disappointing, but it's one of those things. Even the good teams fail sometimes |

Onazi terribly exposed today. Couldnt pass, couldnt hold the midfield and lacks positional sense. That 2nd goal was primary school stuff. 1 Like |

Onazi-Ndidi wrong.Ogu-Ndidi Right. We lost this match because of our midfield pairing not CBs.We made the same mistake in the match against Senegal but some said u can't conclude about Onazi with just 26 mins.In the first 26 mins in the Senegal game. The Senegalese were controlling our midfield before the introduction of Ogu. |

sentiment does not play football. why invite osimhen, when you can make use of that slot for aluko or any other player that will certainly play just incase of any unforseen event like this. 1 Like |

Big shout out to the South Africans and their coach Baxter. They worked very hard, stayed organised at the back and clearly fought for their win. They deserved all three points. Doff my hat to them. 1 Like |

My heart goes to our young Super Eagles players. They looked heart broken and Iheanacho beating himself up was painful to watch. There is still a long way to go and room to fix our mistakes. They should take the defeat in good faith and work hard to prove they are special. 1 Like |

Where are those shouting awaziem up and down...come out now! The kid looked lost in that defence today and was clearly culpable for the first goal..how can he let his man get a free header? Rohr must be regretting starting him now..the occasion was just too big for him..our defence was all over the place after we conceded.. |

Much respect goes to Onazi today. He worked his socks off and led the team with his heart. We are lucky to have a player like him. He did his best to influence the game but it did not work out today. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by kennysville(m): 7:07pm On Jun 10, 2017 |
Is it me or did Rohr adapt to lone striker in front? Hw many times will we av to learn that 4.4.2 is our formation and that Iheanacho is not a 9. For crying out loud we have Onyekuru and iheanacho and Kayode as strikers. What was the plan? Make iheanacho draw defenders so that etebo can score? Playin lone striker is a thing of Pep Guardiola not super Eagles. Very disappointed @ the coach. Frankly, u need the physicality of John ogu in the middle of the park. The game plan for today is so inexplicable ... even the subs. It was so obvious on the pitch today that we lacked leadership. |

Starting a midfield 3 of Ndidi - Onazi - Etebo wasn't a wise idea. Iwobi should've played as a 10 with someone like say Onyekuru on the wing. We missed Mikel and Vic Moses no question. No need to panic. 5 more games left. We have to get a result at SA. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by PietroRico(m): 7:08pm On Jun 10, 2017 |
Our fullbacks were horrible, especially moving forward. That right full back, whatever his name is was just a disgrace. Abeg make Dem quick run the Ola Aina stuff, I don't ever want to witness such filth. As for echejile, the less said the better. He's old and washed up. Probably pushing 40's now, but Baba go dey claim 29. Our ineffective fullbacks were part of what made us so dysfunctional. They simply weren't capable of acting as outlets. I Don't think the guy at the right ever even controlled a pass properly |
