Icon4s:He will not answer. You should know him better. The goal was the turning point in the match. As a defender you do not let ur man stay more than an arms length away from you in the eighteen especially when defending crosses. Later in in the game he @Awaziem, got jittery began to dive in lost his positional sense and almost gave away a penalty. TheGoodJoe can never see this. To him Awaziem is the next Ramos nd can do no wrong. The kid had a nightmarish debut on the big stage #fact..The attackers and mids can be excused if they have a bad day but a defender always have to be on point. One mistake nd you cost your team. 2 Likes |

cromz: We have plenty natural attacking midfielders but some people no wan make dem play for Nigeria. Ajagun dey dere, Aluko dey dere, Onomah dey dere and Raheem Lawal dey dere. Though Iwobi also dey dere. |

eterisan: I do not know how to explain same basic principles over and over again. With Echiejile leaving so much gap behind him and with Onazi and Ndidi pushing forward. How the hell do you expect the central defender to get his positioning right. Even Sergio Ramos will not have a coordinated play. I have pointed out that our problem came from the midfield and wing backs creating gaps. Not the central defence. Haba. |

Good point. I just hope that the NFF doesn't react by messing with the current team. The result is bad but we can beat South Africa at their home too. If they can do it in Nigeria, we can do same in South Africa. Remember that this team was missing 4 very important players. Anyway, let's hope that this is gonna be a wake up call for the players and the coaches. We can't afford any slip ups against Cameroun. Or else, it's bye bye to the World Cup. O pari Icon4s: |

:-Xsmh, these sets of super eagles are wasteful and inexperienced, they just too overhyped. the moment I saw the starting line-up I knew there's no winning. imagine, when last did kelechi iheanacho played, iwobi nko? fielding an amateur in a competitive game and most of these so called players ain't a regular in their respective team aside ndidi.. too many irrelevant call we really need to start building a team |

Icon4s: If you know the positioning of Ndidi and Onazi caused problem, why blame Awaziem? Ekong also had a nightmare. However, the central pair were not the culprit but the defence. This problem goes to Keshi's days. He fixed it with Hope Akpan but the young man injured before the nightmare in Uyo. We need a disciplined four. That was what made Mikel priceless at Chelsea. With a disciplined four, the defence can have a good game. Uche Okechukwu and Taribo will lose positioning of Oliseh played in an indiscipline manner. |

Icon4s: Very untrue because I have pointed out that Coach Big Boss Keshi opting to play Onazi as the standing four exposed Omeruo to Rantie. I have always called for us shielding the defence. In the last game against Zambia, I was one of the few who pointed that apart from the mistake, Omeruo had a good game. |

Giving the current situation it is better we don't qualify for both AFCON and World cup, male and female. |

soetanoreoluwa: I am not too sad. The future is promising. I hope Rohr embraces a direct system. Two strikers, a creative Passer to unlock them, who is disciplined (Mikel), a disciplined four and creative wingers. We can hurt teams. We will get there soon. |

whether na omeruo or awaziem dey there, there wldnt be much difference, the whole blame shld come from coach that's all. he shld explain why he chose this starting line up. 1 Like |

Icon4s: I knew we were in trouble when we lost Hope Akpan. This is also not a call for Hope Akpan but a defensive midfielder to play in that fashion. Just sit and shield. Ndidi has the quality to do that and I hope he bears that responsibility. Just keep it simple. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:22pm On Jun 10, 2017 |
Icon4s: Mikel played a more creative role under Keshi and Onazi lacks discipline to sit back and defend. During that time, Keshi moved Onazi to the right back role and used Hope to shield the defence. This brought stability to the team. As soon as we lost Hope Akpan to injury, we were in trouble. Keshi had to return Onazi and the problem of the lack of a disciplined four happened again. Same problem today. We need that discipline at the back. |

TheGoodJoe: This strategy though. I have never seen Ekong as much of a leader in that defense. He has been riding on the back of Balogun all along. His fragility was exposed today. 1 Like |

My opinion about this game is that we lost the match before the match started, following the training matches we couldn't even score on open play except for henry that scored and he didn't make the starting line up, it was also clear that the coach was having a selection problem and I believe the selections today was highly influenced by external forces. |
