If you honestly think that the present so-called Arewa threat to Igbos to leave the North is just because of the May 30th Biafra sit-at-home, then you're to be pitied. Southerners open your eyes and understand that this is a political card. Learn from history and understand that the Fulani North can do anything to remain in power, even if it means shedding of blood here and there. They allowed Boko Haram to fester just so they can have a major capital for ousting GEJ in 2015 elections, and the plan worked successfully. I believe that the goal of the present threat is simple. Create a scenario that shows a breakdown of law and order. Sell the present govt as unable to handle the crisis. Topple the govt and conduct fresh elections in a few months where a healthier northerner will win. It all boils down to the fact that Baba (Buhari) is not coming back to continue his term beyond 2019. And the Oligarchs cannot gamble an Osibanjo presidency. If you think that the VeePee is in charge of things right now, then you should also go for another mental evaluation. And if you also think that the core northern elites and security forces are not in support of the threat, then you are still sleeping. Southerners, this is a game. Stop allowing these guys get away with their plans by just throwing the stone of division among you. There is something sinister about this threat to Igbos. It's beyond what you think. A sit-at-home to honor past heroes and heroines, and a threat to leave the North, how do they correlate? Understandably, IPOB/MASSOB welcomes the move and are trying to cash in on it. But everybody needs to look deeply and not allow the tribal bashings blindfold him or her from seeing the message. 5 Likes |

I was about posting a similar conspiracy theory on my Facebook wall but changed my mind. I'm Igbo but an objective one. I see beyond the horizon; something only possible for an objective minded person. First things first! Anything the North does, there must be an Agenda behind it. Also anything Muslims do always have an agenda behind it. Don't ever take Muslims actions or inactions as ordinary. You may not see the effect immediately but after many years even thousands of years. Utterances made by Mohammed still shapes nations till this day. The north never wants a Christian to rule over them...where do you think this is coming from? Mohammed's lips of course. I knew 100% that the Kaduna declaration would fool 180 million people ....only a few like the op and myself and any other critical thinker will see through the smoke screen. The real target here is Osinbanjo. The Yoruba's still don't know just how much these guys don't want the VP to take over. They think its negotiable. Far from it. Very far! Am glad I'm not the only one thinking this way. The last thing the North wants is for Biafra to go....so are u now saying a bunch of half educated youths will give Biafra their wish on a plater of gold. Think well! By the time the real motive manifests ...the west will be caught unawares. My opinion though! 8 Likes |

The most stupid, self-defeating, Nigeria-shatering move the north can make now is to oust the VP. If they ever get drunk enough to do that, then it's over for One Nigeria. 2 Likes |

KratosCorp: Bro, it's not as easy as you make it sound. I want "One Nigeria" shattered tomorrow morning. But from the present political arrangement, until the north welcomes that direction, we're stuck with it. They'll play any political card they want at us, provided we keep fighting ourselves down here, they'll always get away with it. This is one hell of a political move. It's big. But they don't care. |

I don't think they are dumb enough to oust the VP militarially. That would be their worst political blunder in history, of which I can assure you that the union will not survive. bros1234: 1 Like |

Thank God there are other people like me who think outside the box... The northerners are very greedy and once they set out to achieve something... They don't care how much blood they have to shed to achieve that... The earlier the rest of nigerians open their eyes objectiveness.. The better for us all 2 Likes |

@Op, you need to stop roping Yoruba in your predicaments. And yes I refuse to buy it. The north doesn't want Osinbajo to be the president, so are the ibos or is it not the same nairaland we have all been? So cut the crap, you ibos hate Yoruba and won't hesitate to destroy us if given the chance. I've said it in the past that any Yoruba living in the north is on their own, so is the SE. North was even at one time friendly to Yoruba, when has the east ever been friendly? Never! While it's time for all to go our separate ways, smart Yoruba wil always pick Hausa over ibos. Hausas are crazy and play cutthroat politics and all but do not single us out to treat any differently from the rest of the country and don't have the hatred ibos have for the Yoruba. The north is not our friend but ibos are our enemies. It's actually a welcome relief when the north is on ibos case as it is now because it gets ibos focus off Yoruba for a minute. I pray for more of this heat on you guys, we need some peace and can't wait for you guys to just leave and go. I'm sure Yoruba have seen blood in the water and strategizing. Sitting on the fence is also a great tool for us while you two go at each other and then strike when we see.the opportunity. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Wyttcat: One question for you bro... 1. Biafra agitators does a sit at home, which was optional. 2. Arewa youths replies by issuing a threat that Igbos should leave the North. Question : How does this correlate? It's unfortunate you're allowing your reasoning to be clouded by the e-fights between Yoruba and Igbo on Nairaland, which in real life is not even the case. In real life I see hustlers trying to survive, wrestling with bad leadership. I know because I live in real life. Yes, each tribe have their peculiar negatives, but judging one tribe based on the e-fights here on Nairaland is just plain absurd. Sometimes it's okay to just think out of the box. You're not going to be charged for that 9 Likes 1 Share |

EkoErrands: Hogwash! This has nothing to do with the VP. What then is going to happen if Biafrans leave the north and relocate back to the east? The only mind game here is being played by the people shouting biafra or death and when the chance presents itself to get biafra they don't want to leave. 6 Likes |

Guestlander: Objectivity is a choice; no one is born with it. I still believe you have a good chance to learn how to be objective in reasoning. Let me help you, first you must ask yourself; what if I was born in the tribe of my enemy? Will I hate myself? The answer to this question is NO! If you perform this test on yourself and be honest about it the whole time....it holds the key to your first objective reasoning in your entire life. Get back to me so I know how it went.... Your sit at home was within your right as far as I'm concerned and I support your biafra as long as you don't insult me. The north felt they have had enough and want you to leave their region. I think they were helping and supporting you because moving back to the SE was the appropriate thing to do. You ibos have no idea how irritating you can be and I think the north just couldn't stand your insults anymore. The hate is real, stop deceiving yourself. What sort of sociopathic idea suggests that insulting a tribe 24/7 is a healthy thing to do? It's totally unacceptable anyway you look at it. I can understand one-off hard jokes but to always turn every single topic into an avenue to insult people is sick and there's no excuse for it. Ibos harbour bizarre and twisted mental delusions with their one and only target being Yoruba. So how do you expect us not to be relieved when you are being pulled by someone else? Every tribe has its own but you ibos broke all rules and there's no coming back for you. No one wakes up one day and hate as much as you do, it definitely has to be inborn. We don't need to think this through, you are just getting what you deserve. It's be long coming. bros1234: 5 Likes |

EkoErrands: What you are doing is mere extrapolation and conjectures based on your imagination. This is the forte of conspiracy theorists, no serious political analyst will reason like that. Wyttcat: I think that the online hate is equal between both tribes and not one sided as you assume. For example, this thread was born out of a critical look at the entire scenario, but your contributions so far has only pointed fingers and insulted the Igbos, without even giving any objective reason to counter the conclusion of my first post. Now, here are two possible things most likey to happen as the discuss progresses... 1. If I want to match you word for word (Which I won't and you can't force me to) I would have started giving it back to you, using derogatory cliches and all that 2. Someone else will bump into this thread, read the contributions, quote you and match you word for word. So you see, it's a 50/50 thing. The NL Igbos believe you are insulting them and want to give it back to you. And the NL Yorubas feel same too. That's just what's happening. Now the big challenge comes when one lets this becloud his real life judgement, such that he can't reason again outside that perimeter. This thread is simply asking you and others to try and reason a bit outside the perimeter of NL Igbos Vs NL Yoruba fighting. Don't fail the readers. 10 Likes 1 Share |

NairalandHowTo: Bro, politics is a two sided coin. Always try to see both sides. Today, in the US, the democrats and so many American states are making caricature of Trump, including building a naked sculpture of the man. You should also know that some states voted to exit the US immediately he won. And till tomorrow, demostrations and all that will keep happpening in all of US gainst Trump. Now flip it. When Obama won in 2012, some states voted to get out of US. Obama was compared to a Monkey, called a jihardist and so on. That's politics for you bro. It happened to GEJ in many ways. I'm sure you can attest to that. Now, it's happening to Buhari, but this time, from the other side of the divide. It's just a circle. And it's not going to stop soon. But when critical issues like the subject of this discuss comes like this, we owe it to ourselves to reason outside of the box. My two cents 6 Likes |

But not the way u pple are doing now. Both good and bad as far as Islam, north, Buhari it is automatically bad. You called us Animals, you called Nigeria zoo. You called Buhari terrorist. NairalandHowTo: Let me tell you why the heat seems hotter now. Ready? Good. It's simply because Igbos and Yorubas are the two most outspoken tribes in Nigeria. They are the ones in the social media - talk about Facebook, Twitter, Nairaland, etc. So they are trying to shout each other down on Nairaland and co and so each side is taking offence and feeling insulted The Hausas? They are minority when it comes to social media patronage. I'm sure you'll agree by their number here on NL. But as for whether the hate, rants, cries, etc, they are just equal sides of the coin. And that's just how politics turns people. 5 Likes |

The best thread i have seen in ages on NL. I never knew i was the only one seeing this possible trend. The north has never been known to do favors for Ibos so why the sudden change in character. Both the north and ibos stand to loose as a result of this ultimatum: so why will the north champion what they know will not favor them. The northern born-to-rule mentality is real, disregard it at your own peril. What will happen if they succeed with their suspected plan to stop the VP from becoming president? Who will stop them or what will be done? Regarding the hate trend on NL I think it will increase traffic and user activity for the blog. In the end its all about business. NL is not an NGO |

If someone say he isn't interested in relationship, what's Yoruba own that?, as a Yoruba i support Biafra just because of the general oppression and suppression of the north, the constitution was designed to favour them, and we av so many other discrepancies in our governance system created by them, all these most people do not know but come this forum to making blind contributions solely on opinions not facts, if the igbos can use Biafra to move government to restructure then treat all these with the Biafra imbroglio. 2 Likes |

kiev002: This is absolutely not about the vice president. This line of reasoning is just a lame attempt to drag Yoruba into the unfolding crisis. The notion that this is about the presidency is just as ridiculous as those who said the January 1966 coup was carried out to make Awolowo the prime minister. Guestlander: You still don't seem to get it bro. I think it's completely politically unhealthy to assume that the North loves the Yorubas and hates the Igbos and so wants the Igbos to leave Nigeria and form their own country. Implicitly, that has been the cry of the Igbos since time imemorial. Now they would rather help the Igbos. Is that how generous they've become? This is all politics bro. Believe me it's all politics. Even if it doesn't degenerate to coup, it's all politics. And my point is... while we all jostle over the threat and blame IPOB and Co, let's be ready for a shocker (especially when you think of the ripple effect of that threat) or begin to develop plan B |

bros1234: Nobody is talking about love or hate here. You need to go back and read the reasons why they gave the quit notice. At no point was Buhari or Osinbajo mentioned, why are you now trying to suggest it has anything to do with them. There's no reason to play a clairvoyant here, the facts are what they are. 2 Likes |
