The majorities are the Oromos and Amharas. Tigray ppl are very small in number compared to these two. Somalis, Afari ppl , Hararris and many others are small in number.

Haile Selassie was from the so called Solomonic Dynasty, but that dynasty was a fantasy. My opinion.

His ethnicity was Oromo(50%), Gurage(25%) and Amhara(25%), but he behaved like Amhara.

Cush is the Ancient kingdom in Sudan and the people that speak Cushitic mostly in the Horn of Africa.

Axum/Aksum was an Ancient kingdom in Eritrea and northern Ethiopia.

Abyssinia was an empire that included the current Amhara and Tigray regions from the restoration of the so called Solomonic Dynasty in 1270 till the late 19th century and whole of modern day Ethiopia from late 19th century until the eradication of monarchy in 1974. Fast forward 40 years, after many regime changes, we are living in different times. Both the Somalis in Somalia and Ethiopians wish nothing but peace and prosperity in the horn of Africa. Nobody is interested in fighting their brothers and sisters for a piece of land that is more than enough for all of us and more.

Very true indeed. If there's one thing that my life in Germany has taught me, is how much we can achieve through unity and cooperation with our neighbours. I hold globalist views and one day, I wish to see a united East Africa, heck even a united Africa - so we can finally put up a challenge to the rest of the world. If the Europeans went from killing each other in their tens of millions and then uniting to form the EU, why can't we do something similar or even better since we haven't slaughtered each other like they did.
