The mama with scan report, sorry i didn't remember to quote ur name. Five weeks is quite early. I feel there's nothing to panic about. Just eat well,rest well and above all pray well. If u get liver like me,u can redo it after 3weeks. At least by then,baby for don mature well and if u cant wait,go after the 2 weeks. God bless u

At nine weeks,i went for TVS cos I was confused.I kept checking daily with strips, each was positive. Lo and behold at the end of the scan my pregnancy was confirmed.Try to relax and go to a different place for scan. Source for. Those with latest equipment and expertise. God blessings be with you.

Mine was checked at 6wks(shy of 2days) and only gest. Sac wad seen and 2weeks later, everything was clearer and confirmed.Its gonna be fine. Trust God to perfect everytin. Awaiting ur joyful confirmatn news 2wks time. Lady25 is right too.

My wife is a few weeks pregnant. We ve been married for 4 years and battled infertility (a failed ivf). We were preparing for another ivf when last week she went for test and was told she was pregnant.
She started noticing the usual signs - tiredness, stomach movement etc.
Yesterday, she got worried that belly movement has stopped for a while and she was having a sharp tingling pain by the abdomen.
I asked her to see the doctor, the doctor did different tests and informed her that it was an inflammation of the appendix. Antibiotics were prescribed and she was told not to worry.
I am a bit worried and confused, could this sudden inflammation of the appendix be anyway related to the pregnancy.
Could these not be signs of ectopic pregnancy (thinking of the worst)

Pls, I will need suggestions.

It shows u are already seeing a specialist doc. Y not try another gynae. so u can clearify thngs and get second opinion. She got to be careful d kind of antibiotics to use during preg. Dont conclude on ur own but seej another doc advice/opinion. Dts my best thought for now.

Hello, first of all congrats
1. The belly moving is most likely gas. She won't begin to feel the slightest fetal movement till around 15 weeks.
2. Sharp pain might be appendicitis and since you said he ran a series of test, I'm tempted to say he might be right. The appendicitis could be as a result of pregnancy, how? During pregnancy, everything in you shifts to accommodate the newcomer, this shift could have caused an already inflammed appendix to readjust position.
3. I don't think it's ectopic..... Why?
- that is the first thing any sane gynecologist will rule out in a pregnant woman experiencing sharp stomach pains. He does a scan to reveal where the baby is settled at.
- ectopic pregnancy comes with a dizzying kind of pain that hardly relieves. It is a constant pain till correction is made.
- it's normal to think the worst everytime. It's okay too. But I hope you know you'll do your wife no good by thinking the worst. Be a rock, for her and your baby.
In all, always feel free to talk to your Dr.
If possible have a list of all your questions at hand and scratch off as he answers.
Also get a pregnancy book, I'll recommend "What to expect when you're expecting ". It's really good for first time moms and about to be dads. I recommend this because it does a post natal follow up too.
