''Dad, am confused here, I didn't know i had Chronic chlamydia until today, am sorry dad'' K.C apologized keeping a straight face.

''Stop calling me dad, Do you know the implication of what you...what just happened, Election is around the corner, if this gets to all those hungry blogger then am doomed, the effect is going to be grievious'' His dad said gruffly.

''Dad, am sorry'' K.C repeated not knowing whatelse to say, he never expected his dad to show up, he was expecting his twin sister.

''Kelechi do you realize the gravity of what you just did'' His dad asked in a less harsh tone.

''dad, am so sor..'' he stopped halfway when his sister came in unannounced, under-dressed, she look just like alice in the rabbit hole.

Without saying a word to anyone, she rushed to Mirabel's side and drew her into warm embrace, petting and whispering soothing words to her.

Mirabel began sobbing and his sister reached for a handkerchief and began to wipe the tears mixed with mascara off her face.


''Dad, what should we do now'' Chidiebere asked when they were all sitted, everyone's face looked sullen.

''Ask your brother'' Her dad replied almost immediately.

''Dad, i said am sorry'' K.C said firmly.

His dad gave him a warning look and turned to Mirabel who was sitting with her head on Chidiebere's shoulder.

''My daughter. Let's sort things out, You both can go ahead and get married next week, while your dad and I look for a way out of this mess that he has put us'' K.C dad said and gave him a scornful look which made him wince.

''With all due respect sir, I can't go ahead with this wedding, am just twenty-six, and i want to have my own babies soon and clearly this bed-hopper you have as a son can't give me that cos he is impotent'' Mirable finished with a grimace.

The insult hit K.C hard.

''Who is she to judge me when she is no saint'' K.C thought.

He kept his thought to himself and turned to his dad with a look that could melt even a stone heart.

''Dad, i still love her, please help me plead with her'' he said and smiled inwardly, he had no idea he was this good an actor.

''My daughter pleas...''

She cut in ''Sir i have made my decision no going back, he should have learned to keep his balls and his hormones under control, if he knew he wanted to marry a decent girl like me'' she said with tears in her eyes and K.C flinched, he was momentarily taken aback by her words.

''Decent'' he thought.

''Even the devil is forming innocence'' he muttered incoherently.

''K.C will you go down on your knees and apologize to her for all this emotional trauma!'' His dad said to him stridently.


K.C squirmed, kneeling down for Mirabel, infront of his dad is way over the top, there's no way he would do that.

''Dad, how did you get here'' he asked instead.

''I called dad and told him everything you said and luckily he was around here, that is why he got here before me'' Chidiebere explained casting an apologitic look at K.C.

''Dad, it's better we let Mirabel cool down and let the anger subside and when she is in a better frame of mind, we will discuss all this over again'' Chidiebere suggested.

''Sorry to say, but my decison has crossed it rubicon, There is no going back, wedding cancelled!'' she said firmly.

''Kelechi, I have an apointment and you better look for a way to get her to change her mind, because i can't loose this upcoming gubernatorial election due to your inability to keep off from anything that wears skirt'' His dad said and scowled at him before storming out obviously upset with the incidence.

''am going too, bye Chidiebere'' Mirabel said carrying her bag and tucking all the scattered contents which spilled out earlier when she was angrily groping for the test results.

''Princess, Let me see you out'' Chidebere stood up and left with Mirabel, while K.C sat with his head bowed.

He raised his head, when the door closed behind him and began to grin and laugh so hard that his stomach threatened to burst open.

He threw his hand triumphantly in the air and screamed ''Yessss''

When he was sure that they couldn't hear him, he went through his Music List and began dancing and singing along ''Chidinma's If no be God''

''Baba God na you biko, I throw way salute give you o'' he continued singing happily until he heard his sister's footstep and immediately he coordinated himself and sat down just the way she left him.

''K. Am sorry about the disease, I will be back later, My husband just called me that my son is crying and screaming ''Momma'' they said he has refused to be placated'' she said picking her handbag.

The next day being sunday. Kelvin woke up early and settled down on his bed as usual with his laptop but this time around he wasn't browsing nor checking through the morning news, he was watching a movie, earlier on, he had tried to go through the news but unfortunately all the blogs he visited were filled with news about him and his family, of which ninety percent were not true.

He sighed grimly and turned the laptop off, then he stood up and began to pace about his bedroom.

With one hand firmly placed on his forehead and another on his waist, he started to wonder if he was shoddy in the recent stunt he pulled off on his family members and everyone around him except for his three friends who knew the truth.

''Too late, no going back, I just hope it doesn't turn into a fiasco, for sure this is really going to affect my father's political career'' he said flatly and sighed before walking into the bathroom, he needed a shower and a good company precisely a hot girl who would take his mind off everything that's bothering him.

''Yes mummy'' Nate groaned and gingerly walked to the door, opened it and left it ajar before walking back to lie on his bed with his phone in his hand.

''Nathaniel'' His mum called again and when he ignored, she walked in.

''Yes, mama Nathaniel'' he said sarcastically.

''It's okay, you don't have to bite my head off'' His mum said in the same tone as he ''Dress up and let's go to church'' his mum said dismissively and turned to go.

''Dress up and let's go to church'' K.C repeated as if reassuring himself that he heard the right words.

''Yes'' his mum replied quietly and snorted, she hadn't expected it to be this easy, normally he would argue, stating that God is everywhere including his bedroom, so there was no point in going to church.

''Alright, I will get dressed'' he said without looking up.

''Really'' she asked surprised and shocked at his calmness and gentility.

''is that hard to believe'' He asked smiling sheepishly at his mum.

''No, no, it's not, sorry'' she answered ruefully.

''Then you can leave, I need time to dress up unless you want to see me unclad'' he said grinning.

''Alright, please be fast about it''

He gave her a mock salute and opened the door for her as she walked out.

When she went out of earshot, he laughed lightly and locked the door, and went back to lie on his bed.

''Imagine telling an almost thirty year old man to get dressed for church, as if am just three'' he hissed and wrinkled his nose in disgust.

His mum used to be his favourite person in the world until last year when she joined his dad in pressurising him to go get married.

''Talking about dad, it just occured to me that I haven't greeted nor even seen him today'' he said wearily and just then his phone rang and he mustered a smile and pressed the answer button almost immediately it started to ring.

''Hello Nate'' the voice called softly and his smile widened.

''Hello, Juliet'' he said soberly not sounding too desperate but in reality he was desperate.

''So, you remember me'' she asked.

''How can I forget the most beautiful lady in the world who slide into my DM last week'' he boldly replied and gave himself a thumbs up when he heard her laugh in a rich, husky voice.

He ended the call and called her back, something he does when he wanted to appear more manly and more romantic.

They talked and laughed for about twenty minutes.

''..., I will meet you in an hour, just give me time to get dressed'' he replied rushing off his bed and headed to the bathroom.

He began to sing and whistle when he thought of what that voice of hers could do to his senses if what he has in mind goes as planned.

''She is adoring, am admiring her hips and her curves, oh, beauty is a natural thing, original thing and a mysterious thing'' he continued singing even while under the shower, his lips quirked in a smirk when he remembered that his mum might be knocking on his door presently.

Ken had already gone to church leaving his wife who complained of stomach upset behind.

Vicky laid on her bed, with her eyes red and swollen, obviously she has been crying.

She picked up her phone and dialled her bestfriend, Queen's number.

''Ken is cheating on me, he is cheating, I heard him last night'' she said and ended the call before her friend could say a word.

A strange, unsettled feeling moved through her as she sat cross-legged, clearly confused.

K.C was about going out for his hurriedly planned date when his phone rang.

''Hello dad''

''Young man, I need you here in five minutes'' his dad said curtly and ended the call.

He entered his car and zoomed off with his heart giving a slow and dreaded pound.

''Am here dad'' he announced happily.

It wasn't until a hot slap landed on his cheek that he realized the extent of trouble to which he has put himself in.
