Gradually the man begins to look more like a woman- developing breasts. The testes gradually begins to reduce in size and function. The man begins to lose interest in women. Because male hormone makes a man to be attracted to women.

Male Hypogonadism
The testes are the male gonad. It produces sperm cells and male hormone. The male hormone makes a man to look and acts like a man. When the testes cannot perform one of its primary function of producing the male hormone it is called hypogonadism. There are many conditions that may cause hypogonadism in males which we may talk about later. However there are stages in the life of a man in which he may suffer hypogonadism. But the fact is that how this condition will affect him is determined by the stage in which hypogonadism occurred. The stages include:

Before birth

Before puberty

After puberty

In adult life



Male Hypogonadism before Birth
The testes are active and produce the male sex hormone even while the male child is developing in the womb. This ensures that the baby develops to become a boy. But when the testes cannot produce this male hormone no male sexual characteristics will develop in the unborn child. Example penis will seize to develop. Instead female organs will be formed. It is true that from conception the baby is meant to become a boy. But a developing child (fetus), whether male or female has the tendency to form female sex organs when there is absence of male hormone. However when male sex hormone is present it will suppress the development of the female sexual organs and male organs will be formed. In male hypogonadism before birth, the baby when born will have a confusing sex organ. He will grow to look more like a woman than a man.



Male Hypogonadism before Puberty
When hypogonadism occurs in a boy before puberty the sexual organs will seize to grow. It remains like that of a little boy throughout life.
