@justwise @ekpotek I need to know what else will be required for my parents to take with them for their appointment. I have scanned and sent the following to them by email so they print it out Bank statements, Invitation to Graduation from Uni, Tenancy agreement/Council Tax, and their filled application form. On their part they have C of O of their house/land, bank statements, pension card, letter of responsibility from their church. Do they need pasport photographs? Their appointment is in Ikeja. Thanks for your response |

Good day everyone, pls I'm new here and I kindly need ur opinion on this issue pls. I did my biometrics on the 15th of March 2017, I also got a mail confirmatory mail that my application has reached Sheffield for decisions. After 60days I also got a mail saying that decision has not been made. I am a bit confused and don't know wat to believe. Secondly wen I use the UkVI tracking what I see is that my ref No is not recognized and when I use the tracking from TLS it shows that decision has not been made. Thanks |

Hello All i am in the process of applying for a visa but with all read here am not so sure if now is the right time, basically i earn 230k monthly but my take home is 60k and that's because i save in three different cooperatives which is detailed in my payslip. i have a money fund/ share which is worth over 3 million naira and i have a small side business which i earn 30k or less from, the money from this business will not reflect in my account cos i just reinvest back in it.i intended taking part of the money fund to sponsor the trip with my kids and my self, my husband is not travelling with me My balance usually shows a balance of 100k or less as i use it mainly for salary and other expenses, how do i prove i can pay for my trip and the kids as someone here said he was denied even though he showed his share certifivate. and on the other hand if i process the money from the stock that also seems like money lumping, how do i go about it. Any advise? i want to know possible solutions, this is mainly for my kids as i do not want to raise their hopes that they are going to Disney world and then have it dashed. PS never travelled before except Ghana which does not count |

Hi everyone one. Good day... I am applying for UK spouse visa. And this is their mail to me Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration. Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible. We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection. Also wen I use the UKVI tracker to check the status of my visa it says ref No not recognized and wen I use the TLS it shows decisions not made yet on the colon. Pls I need ur assistance on this. What should I do. Thanks for ur kind suggestions |

dammy2good: Ask you stock broker or fund custodian to give you a letter for the ECO. This will cost between N2000-N3000. The letter will basically give a valuation of the stocks. Then write a cover letter to the ECO and explain that you intend to fund the trip from the potential sale of your stocks. If you want to sale the stocks now, you will still need a letter from your stock broker to satisfy the ECO that the fund came from sale of your stocks 1 Like |

blank: Lol who said you will be denied? No, the ECO will decide who gets visa or not, but there's nothing ludicrous about adding tax returns/clearance card. It's not compulsory though 3 Likes

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by inphoenix: 8:27pm On Jun 14, 2017 |
travelland: I've been following this argument silently since yesterday, the issues to the reasonable are quite straightforward, however, I have a question for you travelland, seeing your attempt to highlight tax returns in the picture you posted? Do employees in Nigeria file tax returns? And are tax returns the same as tax clearance certificate? The answer is NO. Tax returns are filed by companies and needed as proof for a BUSINESS OWNER, however, this requirement does not apply to EMPLOYEES. Come on people, this is simple logic! 5 Likes 1 Share |

Please can we just focus on the thread and leave the tax certificate issue Abeg. If you want to put it put, if not don't. To be safe and if you have it, pls put. You can never be wrong with too much document than submitting too little. Let focus on people who need help here and asking other questions 2 Likes |

inphoenix: I'm sorry if you feel insulted but I'm certain I didn't because I had no intention to insult you. The statement I made is a fact that applies to all including me. I'm actually surprised to see that people do not see tax remittance as serious and advantageous to the visa application. For the record, tax returns are filed by companies on behalf of their employees as stipulated by law so it's not for business owners but for anyone working in a country. Like I stated before, I have my electronic tax clearance certificate (E-TCC) card and remittance records. It's my right and the company's obligation. 4 Likes |

Are you the applicant? Or do you wish to send a supporting letter for someone else? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 11:24pm On Jun 14, 2017 |
Astonestone: I agree with you, let's move on. An applicant has the prerogative to submit whatever documents that will support their application. However, we must not mislead them to believe that certain document that are not mandatory can anywhere be advantageous. 3 Likes |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by inphoenix: 6:35am On Jun 15, 2017 |
dcutey: So is pensions deductions and remittances. Your right, as well as the company's obligation, but do you include proof of compliance in your application? The fact remains that the documents submitted need to be relevant to your application and no one has still been able to convince we "naysayers" of the point of a tax certificate/returns for an EMPLOYEE. For an employer/self-employed of course you need to prove the status of your business and such returns will assist, but it without doubt does absolutely nothing for an EMPLOYEE so, for someone to because he/she works/worked at VFS/TLS blatantly trying to discountenance something as simple as this needs to be corrected, more so as there's the caveat that visa collection office/officers are JUST THAT. Not because it matters if or not you include the pointless, unnecessary document, but because we need to educate ourselves. PROPERLY. Anyways, kudos to you and everyone contributing here, very much appreciated, I randomly follow the thread every now and then and have to admit it's great stuff! Stay blessed! 2 Likes |

travelland: Are you saying we (employee)should be paying double tax? I receive 200k plus and my employer deducts tax at the end of the month and it reflects on my payslips but Do you advise i go to the tax office to make another payment? After my employer had done that? How much am i gonna be left wif? I know of so many applicants that has never submitted pay slips nor tax cert and after all they got their Visas. Just do the needful, if your employer deducts tax and it shows on ur payslip then no need for another payment. if you have excess money to throw away then pay double tax. To me it doesnt make any sense. Justwise..... Longest time. 1 Like |

dcutey: We obviously take it serious but once tax is deducted by our employer and it reflects on our payslip then we are 100% OK. whether our employer remitts to the government or not, its not our business or that of the embassy. 1 Like |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Astonestone: 10:12am On Jun 15, 2017 |
ekpotek: Exactly. Just like TLS staff shouting for you to put your previous passport page copy and photocopies of previous visas. theres a reason you were asked to fill previous visas and old passport in the form. They can cross check their records and get whatever they want. But to each their own |
That is a healthy balance, which can be explained by your salary if you're a very good saver. However, ensure that there is no unexplainable large deposit in your 6 months bank statement. If there is, point it out to ECO and briefly explain what the lodgement is for - wedding expenses. Good luck. [/quote Okay, tanks a lot . God bless |
