Humility017: I am disappointed that Guardiola insists he will not let Nacho go without a replacement. It will prove difficult convincing a quality striker to join City because our Chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak insists Aguero is staying. With Gabriel Jesus there, a quality striker might end up not playing. With Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling who can play as strikers, I think Guardiola should let Iheanacho go and promote one of the young forwards. Moreno will join the team later and I see Gundogan and Sane having the ability to play the role. Although they are not as lethal as Iheanacho in the box, I feel we can cope without Nacho. I hope Guardiola sanctions Nacho's departure early to give what ever clubs that gets him time to blend him in during the preseason. |

maidaboi: amuneke with his lust for gratifications cost us these....if he had encouraged and inspired the lads...under his watch... I guess we would have had a formidable under 20 team...that will make us remember the Young 3 lions less.... so now all attention are on the few young Nigerians in diaspora |

Humility017: We are just breaking our heads for nothing as far as I am concerned. We have loads of talents. We need private bodies investing in our quality coaches to continue youth programs. Amunike, Manu Garba and Ugbade have shown depth in their knowledge of the game. We need to get them working and give our agents financial support to keep promoting the most promising. I hope the NFF gives Rohr a chance to finish his work and please get Amunike in that coaching crew. We need his expertise. His loyalty is unparalleled. |

forgiveness:Bros won't blame NFF that much, I will blame the country as a whole, our sports generally is bad, we don't groom young players early probably cos of financial incapabity. Nigeria is the worst country to groom stars we like already made stuff we be like parasite reaping from English developmental football. Lookman, Solanke and co will always have England as their priority, once dey can't make it to the squad den dey can consider there second choice. I don't blame dem that much. |

Humility017: Five years contract? Most of the power is with the club. It is up to Guardiola to let the boy go. I understand Pep's challenge. I see him switching to a 4-4-2 formation next season. He was brutal the last time he tried it with Aguero and Gabriel Jesus attacking. He needs a third striker because most of the creative forwards like Sane, Silva and De Bruyne can play Support. However, I feel he should soften his heart and let Nacho go. |

Icon4s: Do you know that one legged Martins Obafemi and Peter Odenwinge are better than Ighalo, Ideye, Iheanacho and Kayode combined? This one of the reasons we can never win the world cup. The mentality to discard players at will in the name of name old man.. If Defore, Ibrahamovic and Gyan were Nigerians dem no go smell National team even if dem dey score 1m goals per second. It doesn't matter, we need fresh blood according to your mentality. Oo! I see! Iheanacho place is at stake hence the need to protect his interest. Bhuuuhahaha! Na Iheanacho get the national team? 2 Likes |

Icon4s: are you not getting the difference? Enyeama's incident occured in the box, that would have been a red card and a penalty, 2 goals down. Akpeyi's incident occured outside the box, red card and minor freekick, we are still in the game |

forgiveness: I don't totally agree bro, Jordan Ibe was begged to play for us when he was in Liverpool but the guy was looking for england call up now Nigeria no send am, ameobi also did the same thing his brother Sammy said he wants to play for england when he was at Newcastle. Guy did the Nff throw a party before Iwobi agreed to play for us?, those lads prefer england as their first choice, then if they can't get it then they settle for Nigeria. Also know that some factors may lead to it, the advice from parents and loved ones also . If na me sef I will go for England as my prefer option. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 6:41pm On Jun 14, 2017 |
sontoly: nobody said stop inviting the young players, where I have a problem is inviting someone like Oshimen telling me he is a player for the future when all our players are for the future as well. Nacho isn't more than 3 years older than Oshimen, Kayode is also less than 23 or so, these guys will still be here 7 years from now so when is this future for Oshimen? The point we are making is that if a slot should be given to any wild card, then it should be given to an experienced wild card not a 'player for the future'. Martins in top form is 1000 times better than Nacho in top form as a striker, and Martins is still 32 or so and playing well for his club, so he is still in top form. Odewinge in top form offers a lot more than Etebo playing as a SS and a lot more than Moses Simon playing as a winger and Odewinge is still playing well. Both players have reaffirmed their desire to play for us so what the hell? The young guys too can learn a lot from them so I think everybody wins, in 2 years they newbies like Nacho would have learnt enough and we will have a smooth transition |

sontoly: And they are still banging in more goals than some of these young fresh bloods. Go and check the Spanish, Italian and Brazilian teams, they still have quite a number of players that went to 2 or 3 World cups. Besides, I guarantee that after 3 years, these same set of young players will be discarded for another set of young players. Na d norms be that now for Super Eagles. |

sontoly: We can't generalize all the players abroad because of one or two bad sheeps. It's not wise. Lookman was part of team Nigeria in England for some time but nobody invited him to the national team. They sounded Amuneke but he was not interested. Dominic Solanke showed interest but NFF refused to act. Period. 1 Like |

forgiveness: A third choice striker that did not play a single minute all season long?? How reassuring. How many goals did he score in the dutch league?? I repeat if you give me Nacho, Oshimen and Solanke and I am asked to choose talent wise, Oshimen first, then Nacho. I will even reject Solanke 3 Likes 1 Share |
