7th April - Biometric Appointment
11th April - Supporting documents received by UKVI
3rd June - Decision made (checked via new email service)
9th June - Supporting documents returned (Royal Mail Special Recorded Delivery)
12th June - Email stating passport ready for collection from TLS (sent to our lawyer; then forwarded to us)
14th June - Passport collected from Ikeja VAC with a beautiful VISA inside ❤️

From biometric to decision being made: 7 weeks & 2 days (UKVI week= 5 Days)
We used the PRIORITY service.

Get a laptop or large screen smart device, clipboard app, 3 pens, loads of paper, 1 crate of your favourite drink and a box of gala.

Sit down comfortably, top up your data bundle, then carefully start reading from PAGE 0 .............

Lexus is also right , you need to sit down and search using keywords. Nobody can tell you all you need to know in one post. Its like writing thesis

Also, people usually give a background to their situation so people can know how-to advice . Are you using salaries, do you have a history of refusal, are you using savings. My husband is self employed for example so my route was different.

Mzdimples... Truly though you need to review this forum to have a good appreciation of what is required par time...circumstances differ but the most important factor is to provide "over-proof" on each requirement....

Read from year 2015.... the requirements have been the same since then...except the fee wey increase....lol

You can read up and whatever grey area, u may come here and we will be more than willing to clarify....

From my experience, it was not asked for.... I doubt anyone on this forum has had to present it.... Besides, it should be with ur spouse as part of the documents returned. How u wan take get am?? LOL

I want to know anyone who apply for priority in May and has had a decision.my husband is in nigeria and i am here in UK, i am missing my husband like crazy. We was refused in october due to some requirements not met. Our timeline

Application sent online- April 21 paid for priority
Biometric- May 2
Sheffield email acknowledge of application- May 3
Supporting documents sent- May 9
Track document received in sheffield - May 10
Send email twice on 02 and 05 June- emails reply after five days your application is being considered and last status update was on 03/05.
Call on 03/06 after no reply I was told application is awaiting to be assessed
Decision mail-

The other question i have is I send the supporting documents to the following address as this was provided by tls ikjea

I hope I have use the right address no email to stated they have not received documents

I hope your well. I understand how much you miss your husband but believe you will be reunited soon!!

In regards to UKVI, the Sheffield offices particularly now serve several countries - so the backlog of applications is really bad.

My advice is if you paid priority and it reaches 8 weeks with no news - then check via the online email service (scroll back a few pages) you will locate the link. You can use several reference numbers to check the status of your application.

When you phone they will always tell you - 'settlement application is always 12 weeks' - and trust me it just frustrates you rather than help you while they charge you £1.37 a minute. Also don't use the email charge service either that's at £5.48.

If I've counted correctly, you are currently at 6 weeks & 2 days so hopefully you don't have long to go!

You used the correct address so don't panic.

Just pray and keep believing.

The address is very correct. Ironically, parcels sent to both addresses are well attended to. There is no worry in this regard.

Lexus and Nakiemi have advised on the process but in reiterating, as long as you have submitted a water-proof application, you should be on your partner should be on his way to Heathrow soon.....lol

Who else has paid for priority and still waiting for decision. I pray Olowogbogboro is involved in our case , there is no where the arm of God can not get to. Praying for good news very soon , the waiting is killing.

At Nakiemi thank you so much for your advice. congratulations on your success of getting the visa. This forum put your mind at rest, the fact that I cannot travel to see the husband is worse as I submitted my passport.

If your application was water - tight, you have nothing to worry about.......
Spousal visa is the easiest application to obtain.........
