Good afternoon guys, please am about to book my flight with Qatar airways because it's the cheapest I got to Florida. My question is : how advisable is it to use Qatar airways considering the recent news about some issues concerning international flight disruptions in Qatar.

There are some tension but how tomorrow will turn out or how it will escalate i cannot predict ....

you don't have to fly directly to Florida. you can fly to any other city and then go to florida... yes it would be more stressful but only for one day or two but at least your mind is at easy that a day to your flight u won't hear Qatar flights are grounded or some long story .

nope ...... no problem with this. where is the rule that states you have to use Miami airport. its absolutely fine, you can print out your connecting flight , bus to show at POE if asked , if that makes you feel more comfortable

No! To be on a safe side, hold your connecting flight ticket or bus ticket in case of they ask. I flew to Newyork then and my final destination was Charlotte which is on the same axis as Florida. You wont have any problem except you carry cocaine though

Take the GRE, score as high as you can. Apply to decent schools. I could suggest some, based on your GRE score. Plan to pay for your tuition for the MSc. Find out what industry employers look for. Prep your CV for summer internships, while you study.

That's by the way, I had plans to to see a gynea for medical investigation if i have gotten my Canadian visa but since they denied me I have made up my mind to apply to USA on medical grounds.

I have also applied for a pleasure (vacation) visit last year to USA but was also denied. am confused as I don't know if I will also be denied if I applied on medical grounds.

About TOEFL


I will encourage every applicant to write toefl because most schools use it as a basis for awarding teaching assistantship. In my own case, I didn't write Toefl because I turned in my applications late and money factor too. Things didn't pan out the way I wanted. I got admitted and though the grad school waived toefl for me, my department said I was not proficient. I got half TA and I had to pay the balance of my tuition. I would have saved myself the stress of paying if I had written toefl.
When you come here, you will see that you speak better English than other non-native English speakers that Oyinbos would ask you 'do you speak English in Nigeria?'.

How about IELTS? Isnt it acceptable in place of TOEFL?

I have interest in security of smart grid systems as well as FOG networks in smart grid, I have proposed research ideas to the UofTcurrent group unfortunately they said they could not add more new student lately. So u may have to look somewhere else Like I am now bro
