Due to pressure, several requests and calls from our members who are keen to get first hand information on the ongoing negotiations between the Igbo leadership in Kebbi state and the Arewa consultative forum Kebbi state chapter on the recent IPOB and AREWA counter threats, we wish to state as follows;

1) That chief Mike Eze (Mmiri na ali ugwu na Alor) is acting on a provisional capacity due to the unresolved election of February 2017.

2)That we can only consult with Arewa at the behest of Eze igbo 1 Abuja in the person of Eze nwosu Ibe leader of the umbrella body of all the Eze ndi igbos in northern Nigeria, who has assured us he is negotiating with the Arewa national body to secure a guarantee for Igbo lives and properties in the Northern parts of Nigeria.

3) That we are Signatory to the letter of compulsion written to Eze igbo 1 to act on our collective behalf, this decision was taken as a fall out of the meeting held by the MASSOB leader Ralph uwazuruike with Major Hamza Al Mustapha at the Arewa house in Kaduna on the 12th of June 2017. It is without doubt that while the agitation for Biafra remains a noble cause, Uwazuruike has proved to have the diplomatic finesse on which our interests as igbos living in Northern Nigeria depend on.

4) While few branches of the clandestine IPOB groups led by Mazi Nnamdi kanu have sprung up in several regions in Northern Nigeria, we state categorically that the IPOB movement is an organ of desperation and social encumbrance with blood thirsty aspirations, we have rejected its modus operandi and have completely dissociated ourselves from its methodologies. This we state for the following reasons;

a) Mazi Nnamdi kanu is not a known persona amongst us as such is in no position to define our collective interests without due consultation.

b) The IPOB movement create Schism amongst igbos in the North especially those of Imo extraction whose government is aligned with the government at the center, we still wish to be one united Igbos regardless of political divide.

c) We felt deeply insulted when the leadership of IPOB replied AREWA that we are ready to pack our things out of the North, we are compelled to ask the IPOB leadership, if Nnamdi Kanu gave us what we are packing?

d) IPOB'S reckless and unguarded utterances have not only made us targets of violence but has created distrust among several northern communities hosting us in peace, that peace we wish to maintain regardless of the political instruments behind Nnamdi Kanu.

e) Having spent several years in the North, we do not consider ourselves stakeholders in IPOB's fantasized biafra, one that needs the blood of others to justify the greed of a few who seem to have nothing to lose, rather, a movement of social equality and justice.

d) Mazi Nnamdi kanu has betrayed his stands of non Violence in the struggle as a result of his ill thought out plans and incompetence in strategy executions, He has shown lack of common understanding of Northern religious and tribal sensitivity.

5) While we continue negotiations with our Northern hosts, we appeal to the security agencies to come alive to its constitutional responsibilities and charge Nnamdi kanu for inciting forceful displacement.

We urge all our members to go about their various businesses without fear of intimidation and threat and circulate this information as far as it reaches all our members that our leadership is doing everything possible to neutralize this evil that has befallen us.
