Good evening viewers! i have this issue has been bothering me, and i dont know if i can cope with it anymore particularly now we are making plans to settle down after my NYSC.

My man is too attached to his mum almost like an addiction. at first i was cool with it because his dad is late and i like guys that are close to their mums, but my man own is creepy and freaking me out. he calls his mum almost every hour, morning, afternoon, evening and even midnight calls.

One day his mum complained of headache, he almost left his office just to buy his mum drugs despite his mum telling him it's not serious, when i tried confronting him about this he told me that his mum is his soul and if his mum dies he would die along with her too, with all seriousness he told me this.

I've been very uncomfortable since that statement from him and it's making me have a rethink whether i can cope with him as a spouse.. please advice me..

Say NO to Mummy's BOYS......

Have a son first nd u gonna understand, i swear if a girl question about my mum in a slight rude way or she's asking too much then even if it's hour's to our wedding I'm calling it quit. Shikena

...rubbish comment..

...It is one thing to be close to your mum,but another to be a lapdog, mummy's boy with no brains of your own..This is a recipe for disaster in marriage.

....We all have mothers we love to death, but matured adults should learn to draw the lines and boundaries when one gets married..

...otherwiise freaking stay single and leave marrriage for matured adults with their brains screwed right..simple!

if u can't stand it ,leave immediately , but if you so much love him and u want to stay then be very close to his mother overdo things for her to win her heart make her like you wella, and u will notice his attention will be on you more than his mum. the womAn self go dey protect ur intrest any time una get misunderstanding be wise play safe u need wisdom to handle this case. there is always solution for every problem on earth.

Who have you been taking advises from? Did you stop for a moment and think about how traumatic it must have been for him losing his dad? And that poor woman struggled to get him where he is today. It's not like she's going to be dragging your matrimonial home with you, as long as she isn't bad to you I do not see where the problem is. If you're not comfy with it, you can go your way.
My pastor once said "If you want to know a man who'd threat you right, check how he threats his mum". The guy may be very close to his mum, and take counsel from her which is what most guys/ladies do by the way, but what she should be bothered about is if her fiancé's mum guides him wrongly.

Madam, when you give birth to a son, train him and when he is all grown up and does not care calling you, come back and tell us how u feel. you are just a freaky jealous lover trying to cut ties between mother and son. Better change.

All those asking whether he makes his own decisions? Well he consults his mum most times before his decision.. Though i dont confront him abt that.. My only concern is that his statement abt him dying along with his mum..

That one is just an overstatement

So you want him to divert all his attention to you?

You don't know what his mother went through to make him who he is today.

..Ladies say no to Mama's boys masquerading as matured males...Examples are:

..'Mum said i should marry next year'

..'Mum said i should have two children'

...'Mum said i should not marry from so,so,so and so tribe'..

..'Mum said i should sleep with my wife twice a month'

..'Mum says i look better on casuals than co-operate wears'

..'Mum does not like me eating okro and ogbono soup together..mum this, mum that..

Ladies run as far away as possible from these sort of males if you know whats good for you...A word is enough for the wise.

lol. Then u never ready to marry na. Everyone has a mum. Even the babe wey u wan marry. Marriage is Btw 2. U leave and cleave to ur wife. So the bible says. No one is saying be rude to ur mum or cut off completely. But just know that Ur wife has assumed that ur mom's position in ur life.

My advice is correct it with your sons. Don't make them love only 'momma'.

Hmmm...

Can I ask how long you guys have been dating ?

This might be off topic but ...I would advise you to start a career first before you get engaged or even married ...why ? As a partner there are certain goals you might have to sacrifice to keep your marriage . That's just by the way .

As for your complaint between your partner and his mother - if you have been dating this man for a while now surely you would have picked up on this way before now . However perhaps for some reason this is becoming an issue for you .

So let me tell you something you already know ...my dear when you leave NYSC and join the real world if you truly are career oriented ...you won't even have the time to pick up on this issue that's annoying you .

Then again you need to dig deep and ask yourself why this is an issue for you ?

Perhaps one would feel that his relationship with his mother makes him seem less attractive to you or less manly per say ...is that the problem ? Think well .

If this woman means you no harm or ill will ...let it go and pursue your goals and maintain your relationship .

Don't go chasing ninjas in waterfalls ...

Its okay for a guy to care for his mother but some men are really attached. It's worse when the mother capitalises on her son's feelings and interferes in his marriage.

OP, All I can advise is that you watch him carefully for now. Your instincts are already giving you signs. Listen to your instincts.

NONSENE!!!
Do you expect him to show his mom less affection? As long as he gives your due respect to you and carry you along in his plans, you have no ishh.

I don't joke with my mom and dad one bit even though I've not rewarded them enough.

OP You better live with the reality that most guys/men don't joke with their mums. Hopefully, your son won't joke with you...

But I also don't joke with my woman either and I give her due respect to her!!!

Exactly, you're on point. I don't joke with mom. The poster is prolly influenced by someone else, since the mom is not in any way maltreating her, she should be thankful. Most mother-in-laws are something else. And no mother no matter how evil she is, always has her son's interest at best
