femi321: when someone asked sure questions he or she might not be aware, have sure info or be a fans of this threat, you don't have to condemn or make the individuals look inferior with your respond, afterall everybody was once like that. just respond to the person positively like lagosismyhome. our attitude towards responding to questions matters alot.... 2 Likes |

successflow:That's why we always encourage people to read the thread, if he/she had read the thread, he/she would have known. Secondly, lagosismyhome said the school has low standard, the person/another person was still asking what are the metrics for measurement of standard of school...In Summary, I don't believe you have a point. Have a good day. 3 Likes |

successflow: This is very true. I didn't want to talk about it before because it's none of my business. But the way some people answer some questions here is really rude and very annoying. Yeah I know y'all most time give solution or answers to the problems but other times some people answer questions in a very rude and insulting manner like the person you're talking to is inferior or very dumb. And yes I know some people ask some very ridiculous questions but instead of making jest or answering in a rude manner just ignore no one would crucify you for ignoring. Shey Lagosismyhome is a person too, no matter how stupid the question she finds a subtle way to answer or redirect the person. Not every time say rubbish just because you want to comment. We're all supposedly mature here so I expect we'd do the right thing. P.S: It hasn't been done to me before but sometimes I see replies people give and I'll be like "wtf is this, just ignore the freaking question! Your name wasn't attached to the message" My 2 cents from my observation. 7 Likes 1 Share |

femi321: you are not getting my point what am trying to say is that when the person has such questions u don't have to respond to the question like that, the person might be a guess to this thread u could have just respond positively VIU is a red flag since like 6years now here if I remember correctly, and not You have time sha. because you don't know where such person is coming from and that can caused such individuals not to ask any questions next time. gaviria: Lets face it, quite a few people here appear to be quite dumb. I have to give thumbs up to the gurus here who seem to have a great deal of patience. In my view, there are some "questions" that should not be answered. For example, someone asking others opinion about a school - what happened to doing a diligent google search about the school's program, ranking (you can find this easily on USNews), alumni etc.? Often times people ask questions about how to fill in ordinary forms, how to answer obvious visa interview questions etc. The whole point of an F1 visa is that you are a bonafide student... the huge number of obvious frauds who appear at the interview is the reason we need to fast and pray just to obtain a visa. Lets call a spade a spade and stop this sickening attitude of making excuses for adults who seem to not have the intelligence required. I agree we are all expected to be mature here, but maturity goes both ways. We should stop rewarding mediocrity by pretending "we were all there before". There was a time NL did not exist, i wonder how people secured admission to US schools and passed F1 interviews. 8 Likes |

TWoods:I acknowledged the gurus in my text. I've learnt a lot as well and i appreciate that. But like I said and I agree with you, there are some questions that shouldn't be answered. I've seen some questions that sound outrageous, ridiculous and they baffle me that I ask myself "how will this person face a VO or even get where he/she is right now" or "why not just google it" but then like I said I ask myself, ignore the question and move on. But better the question stay unanswered than insult the person. We're all humans and regardless of however we might sound we wouldn't like to be insulted or made jest of publicly. In my opinion. 2 Likes |

TWoods:I conquer to u, but the point we must understand is that people see this thread has a community were we help each other to achieve a particular goals ( secured F1 visa ) and be informed inorder not to be a candidates of fake dude call agent, how I wish it is possible to identified new members so we can know how to address them... |

successflow: This thread is a community only because some people did their homework and thus can provide answers to questions. Imagine if we all came here asking questions such as - which visa should i apply for to study in America? The thread would be dead in 2 days. 3 Likes |

I guess it is time to take a backseat but before I do so, let me share this. When I joined this thread, my first 3 questions were ignored I felt pained and decided to start reading from part 1. By the time I got to part 4, I was so confident that I'd end up getting my visa I also got all the answers to my questions. I've met a lot of people on this thread and more often than not, our problem is a lack of sincerity For instance, there's a lot of people that emailed me for a mock interview. It was crystal clear that they weren't going to school but when I asked them, they lied. Please, how do you want such people to be helped? I don't mind if you're 'running away', not everyone is meant to go to school but try and be sincere in all your dealings. Most people here want to be spoonfed, like seriously There's a lot of answers by just typing your questions on Google. Also, I think I have said it before, we hate being told the truth. You'd warn people against applying to certain schools and they'd hate you. You encourage them to rewrite standard exams and they flair up. Well, I know some people have learnt their lessons (I won't mention names). There was a time on this thread someone was denied a visa and she started blaming people for not replying her PMs. All of us here are adults, if you can't handle responsibilities like this, I wonder how you'd cope studying or working over here. I don't wanna bore you with my post. Success to all future visa applicants. MODIFIED Please don't go to anyhow school. Go to a good school so that you can get a good job. 11 Likes 1 Share |

I do wonder how an individual who ask dumb and trivial question manage to graduate and how they intend to continue with their post graduate study... it's a pity. Anyway kudos to ladies like lagosismyhome and gentle men like walspring who take out time to answer such questions, they are very good teachers... left for me such questions should be completely ignored. I got a full scholarship and visa by simply making use of Nairaland and quora without asking questions. If at this stage we can't do our own research how do you intend to do a serious research at postgraduate level. it's a pity sha 11 Likes 1 Share |

OluDare01: That point should be mandatory reading for intending students here. I've seen the repercussions of this many a time - sorry to say, but if you attend many of the lesser known historically black colleges, many big companies will simply thrash your job application. Texas Southern University... take note. 4 Likes 1 Share |
