Damsel21:Hi, I have not been on the thread for a long time so not responding to you was not deliberate. How old is your pregnancy? The best treatment for threatened abortion is bed rest. This bed rest entails suspending most physical activities. This is hard to keep but try as much as u can. Avoid intercourse until your doctor clears you. Review the need for the Franol with your doctor. It has no role in managing threatened abortion unless there are other reasons it is prescribed for you. The commonest causes of early miscarriage are genetic causes, factors that are ordinarily out of our control. As such, even with the best possible care, pregnancies that are genetically destined to abort will abort. However, do your part and hope for the best. All the best |

Omojudy:Ok. Focus on the polyp and fibroid then. Get a second specialist opinion about the best way to manage them esp considering your eight miscariages. I would favour a more definitive approach as opposed to a conservative one. All the best |

Not wanting to be rude or unappreciative, but I thought that since this thread was labelled as gynecologist and obstetrician in the house, it was an unspoken understanding that women posting here were looking for such personels to give their opinions on their case. Then if anyone due to experience wished to comment, it would be cool to state he wasn't a doc before he started? Just my opinion. Hope we all had a good day? |

good evening doctors. I had fibroids and was pregnant with it. was on admission for bed rest from January to April. around may ending, i started bleeding and the pregnancy was 26 weeks then. on Saturday 3rd of June 2017. I had forced labour as the fibroid pushed the baby out at exactly 27 weeks. the baby was rushed to LUTH for incubator facility but died on the 8th of June. I want to know how u can guide me as I waited for years to get this pregnancy and it ended like this. what should I do now. pls I am begging as I don't know myself again. |

Hello Dr in the house, I greet each and every one of you. My girlfriend is about a month pregnant and she doesn't want the baby. I know it's wrong and irresponsible. (Please don't judge me) this is the only option for us right now. Please I have made a research about getting rid of it. And most people say D & C is very dangerous. Please what do you recommend? Doctors in the house please help? Thank you. |

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 7:12am On Jul 01, 2017 |
jreyez: Sir,we don't judge here, that's not our responsibility. D and C is not dangerous but like any minor surgery has its side of merit and demerit. In preference to it,some practitioners may choose in for MVA for reasons own to week of pregnancy at most 1st trimester. I think D n C abortion should be carried out for a fetus below 500g and thus certainly may fall within the first trimester, at this point in time doing it may not prove fatal. If she chooses to have a D n C done on her,she should ensure to ask the local practitioner some of these questions: a) When is D n C legible for a pregnancy week? b)What are the disadvantages of this D n C? c)What are the reasonable fatality attach to it if things go bad? d) Will it affect my fertility, how? e)What are the side effect of it? f)What to do before and after the procedure? g)Signs I should look out for in cases of shock. h)Others. |
