Ma'am I think you should be patient with them cos as time goes on they will adapt,so am not the only one going through the frustration of child rejecting food..I now pray to God daily to touch the boys heart because am really frustrated,i got a multivitamin that doubles as appetite stimulant VITANE ,you can check it out,he has improved a bit ever since I started giving it to him..shalom

Thanks dearie, I appreciate. It can really be frustrating. We would continue to pray they eat well while we do all we can .

Babies are like that they reject it at first but you try again till you get how they like it. My boy rejected oaths and rice cereal at first but took it when I blended it with banana. He takes pap very well, semo and amala with ewedu and eats rice with me when I am eating. May Jehovah bless all our efforts. kiss kiss to them.

Thanks so much Ma, I appreciate. How is your baby?

I use Quaker oaths, I don't blend before cooking. After cooking I pour inside blender then add 1and half banana(I heard too much banana can constipate baby so I am always careful) and blend together. it comes out creamy and yummy then I add his formula and spoon feed him. Trust me its really nice.

Hmmmn, sincerely speaking, I am so tired and exhausted. I made the beans this afternoon, they tasted just three spoons as usual and refused taking it again. I don't know what else to do, I have tried almost every cereal I know, semi draw soup, Pap, bought august secrets foods yet they won't eat. All they want is breast milk, then they ear mashed yam / potatoes and butter well. They dont take formular alone except i mix with cereal even that only three spoons. I am exhausted !

Try finger foods.
Stop feeding them.
What happened to dodo?
Fried fish?
Fried potatoes?
Pepperless Akara?
Plain rice? Let them eat by themselves o... Half will fall on the ground but they'll eat more than 3 spoon fulls.
Mashed beans (without skin), make it thick, very thick so that they can eat it with their hands....
Fried chicken nko? If they've got teeth, why not? Make sure it was boiled tender.
Boiled eggs.
Fruit salad. Slice thickly: pawpaw, watermelon without the seeds, banana, boiled carrots,
Pancakes cut into tiny chunks (to avoid choking)

I'm assuming they're more than 6 months old

From my lecture note

HOW TO MAKE CARROT OIL
1. Wash and peel the skin of carrots
2. grate it
3. put the grated carrot in a pot.
5. pour in any oil of choice (coconut/olive oil)
6. put the preparation ton low it for 50 minutes to an hour.
7. When the infusion process is completed, pour the carrot oil mixture through a strainer or filter to separate the oil from the carrots.
8. store in the container. The oil can last for up to 6-8 months or more.

HOW TO MAKE COCONUT OIL
1. Break the coconut
2. Drain out the water and bring out the meat
3. Grate the coconut to make it easier to blend.
4. Blend the coconut to be extremely smooth.
5. Squeeze out the shaft in the strainer
6. add some water to the shafts until the shaft is clear from the coconut milk.
7. pour the coconut water in a transparent bucket or container. cover it and leave it for 48 hours.
8. After 48 hours, open the bowl, it will be realized that the oil has solidified. It would be at the top of the coconut milk. ordinary water would be at the bottom.
9. scope out the thick oil into a pot on a low heat and stir for 20 or more minutes depending on the quantity, until the shaft turns brown.
10. filter the oil and put in a jar.
.

HI. What do you mean in no 6 of carrot oil preparation

There isn't my dear. Newborns are meant to sneeze often, it is actually a problem if they don't. Sneezing helps them to clear their respiratory passage . There is no cause to worry.

If is one of the gerber, heinz cow and gate or the like oats. You do not need to cook.

Mamas I'm here again oooooo.

My baby boy has indigestion. He cries a lot at night and he doesn't sleep till day break.

I gave him food (breastfeed) in the morning which he vomitted everything after like two hours, some even came out from his nose. I quickly cleaned him up cos hubby too was scared ( we are first time parent)

Fast forward to the afternoon, I fed him again cos he was crying , immediately he burp, he vomittee everything again.

We noticed he will sleep a little, wake up cry , sleep back, wake up, cry and all that which was very unusual.

We had to take him to the hospital in the evening. The doctor we met examined him after I told her what brought us to the clinic. She touched his tommy and she said my baby is over fed and probably he doesn't burp before he is put to sleep.

She wrote some drugs and my hubby went to get them ......my baby as crying again and I decided to feed him , immediately he burp he vomitted again .

My questions:

Do anyone has that experience
How many hours interval should I breast feed him because I guess whenever he is crying, I would just feed him.

Please don't pass by......help a first time mum.

Thanks

The drugs they gave you at the. Hospital, is/are it/they cough syrup(s)? If yes, please there is strong need to treat infection. They. Should run a test on him to know the cause of the cough, once the root is treated cough will go.

Sorry about this.

Am not cool with hourly calculated feeding. I feed when I see they are hungry or on a good interval.

What your son is experiencing is over feeding, now that was the same thing I experienced with my son then. He was always crying for food. And after feeding he would throw up the excess. Here is what the Paed. Advised and it worked:

feed very little quantity on a regular interval, I should ensure he is not well feed at a particular time.

2, ensure he belch and carry him on the shoulder for a. Few minutes before lying him down.

3, fold cloths into good shape nt too high and too low, rest. His head on it.

I was consciously doing these three, and I don't know when it all stopped.

Caution: as a first time mum with this, you need to be very at alert when he just finish eating and he wants to sleep, it can choke them. Ensure you practice the three above, you won't even know when it will stopped.

Cornflakes is good since he is over a year old but no sugar yet or use very little . Kids love sugar once they start taking it they won't want anything else

I am assuming you are ebf. It's feed on demand o no timing it but the age of the baby determines how often they eat. You need to state the age of your baby so one can tell if his behaviour is the usual thing for his age. Is he also just spitting up milk or is it vomiting with force?

The swelling takes time to go down . Just continue to manage your baby. As long as the place is not showing sign of infection it will improve.
