KDF should form some kind of think tank made of people like her and also from various intelligence departments who would formulate relevant policy that guides how the military approaches a certain situations, there work would be to look at the bigger picture, smaller picture... Then come up with a robust plan that will take care of every eventuality, so that war doesn't leave ppl in worse situation than they were b4 (like what's happening in Middle East, one war just led to another, and another now no one recognizes the place anymore) I've just heard US F/A 18E has taken down a syrian Su-22 after it fired on US backed rebels..

I see the Ghanaians and Senegalese still use the M60. This was a bleeping POS from the get go!! The earliest Vietnam versions were actually called 'bolt action GPMGs,' cause they jammed so often.
As always we should hear what operators, not fanboys say.

I carried the thing for three years for the 1st Ranger Battalion, it was a piece of junk then and it's a piece of junk today. When I got out of the army in 1989 they were changing over to the FN-Mag a superior machine gun to the M-60 that the Dutch Royal Marines let us try out in Puerto Rico in the spring of 1987.
The M60, among it's many other sins, would shed parts while firing. A machinegun that has to be kept together with safety wire isn't exactly what I want in combat.

I have carried a pig (M60) for two solid years and not another soldier around me ever envied me in the slightest. They merely chose me because of my stature. All I ever seen those things do is Jam, jam and Jam some more.

https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/who-said-the-m60-gpmg-was-unreliable.258531/

It actually gets worse!!

Nicknamed the “Pig” for its large size, the M60 had a number of faults. It was poorly balanced, often unreliable, and prone to jam after a lot of firing. Certain parts had a tendency to bend or break, and it was equipped with a fragile trigger mechanism. In addition, it was easy to accidentally cause the barrel fall off. Changing the barrel was tricky due to a lack of a carrying handle and permanently mounted bipod.

http://www.military-today.com/firearms/m60.htm

Never fired the 240 but the 60 I used was a jam-o-matic. Still fun as hell.

The M60 was a fragile, unreliable, badly-designed piece of shit. There’s a reason that half the world adopted the FN MAG (M240) while the only countries besides the US that used the M60 were the ones who got free M60s as military aid paid for by US taxpayers.

Much better than a M60 is an understatement. When i was in the m240 was mounted coaxly with the man gun on my tank. The sheet metal and rivet beast would fire till the barrel glowed. the only problem we ever had was some run put to much lube on one and it ran off we had to break a link to get it to . It made me wonder why the service was so long in replacing the M60

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/12/daniel-zimmerman/gun-review-m240-machine-gun/

I strongly suspect politics and biz influenced the adoption of the M60 in the US. Same thing happened with the M16, the first versions were completely unready for combat conditions. I also think a certain Italian went a long way in developing the mystique of the M60 that many of us sadly fell for. Any Ghanaians to tell us M60 reliability issues?

Truly, when you research a little the introduction of the M60 was scandalous! Documentaries, not movies or carefully edited combat films show how unreliable 'the Pig' was.
It had such serious feed problems troops quickly learned to place the ammo above ration cans so it wouldn't jam.

Except it's a gathering of witches, all they'd see is a white blinding light and then super oxidation and instantaneous combustion.

Iveco is aggressively trying to enter the kenyan commercial vehicles market, even opening an assembly plant in Mombasa
Turin-based Iveco has returned to Kenya through Global Motors Centre which is building a Sh2.3 billion assembly plant in Mombasa to produce the Italian automaker’s range of commercial vehicle brands.
Iveco’s prime movers were last sold by CMC Holdings, with the Italian brand missing from the Kenyan market for years.
