Princkez: @bolded, I think what the FBN Bank Risk Officer & others said at the AGM are 1. that NPL ratio will be trending down going forward and that they expect it to be in the single digit in 2-3 years time; 2. There are 3 big loans that are not performing which are making a big impact on NPL. 2 of those 3 are expected to/have started performing but accounting requirements will only allow them recognize that after 3 qtrs or so. So, write-backs are expected from the previous provisions made. 3 Likes |

FBN Holdings Plc has commenced move to reduce its Non Performing Loan, NPL, which stood at over 25.2 per cent in the first quarter of 2017. Speaking at the bank’s Facts Behind The Figure presentation on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, the Group Managing Director, FBN Holdings Plc, Mr. Uke Eke, said with acceleration of recovery of the impaired accounts, one out of the five major accounts that constitute its biggest NPL burden would drop off by the end of second quarter (Q2’17), leading to achievement of less than 20 per cent NPL ratio target in 2017. This, according to him, would be followed by resolution of the $500 million NPL belonging to Atlantic Energy, the second major account. “If you take off these five accounts, NPL concern will be taken off. That is why we have decelerated loan provisioning. This gives us the hope that we will achieve the projected NPL ratio,” he said. He noted that besides the legacy issue the bank is dealing with, no fresh NPL is forming on its books . 2 Likes |

eazyway212:Mr Tony, separated the hotel from the transcorp and name it Transcohot when the price rose from 50 kobo to #6, without given the Transcorp share holders some percentage of share in the hotel. The same way he removed the oil sector (oil well) from Transcorp and name it "Tone oil" with nothing to the existing share holders of Transcorp, and I believe that soon, he will remove the power sector before the expected huge amount will be paid to him. He is just using Transcorp as one man business without considering the investors, and that keep moving Transcorp one step forward and 3 step backward. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/www.nigerianmonitor.com/revealed-check-out-the-full-list-of-owners-of-nigerian-oil-blocks/amp/ In case if you are doubting go through the list you will see from the link above and check the owners of OPL 281 and OPL 2008 "that is Transcorp & Tenoil" 3 Likes |

lancee: Forte Oil Plc has said it is planning to sell shares worth N20bn to institutional and high net worth investors, and has applied for regulatory approval for the transaction. The energy firm said on Monday that the capital raising would be done as a public offer for shares through a book-building process to help price discovery, adding that it had applied to the Securities and Exchange Commission and Nigerian Stock Exchange for approval. It said its core investor, Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited, owned by billionaire, Femi Otedola, with a total stake of 62.97 per cent in the company, would not participate in the offer, according to Reuters. They should issue some rights to existing shareholders and the balance to institutional investors, that is the way to go. Anyways better to keep buying from the floor to avoid story that touches the heart. 3 Likes |
