The choice of French or Arabic languages to be taught in secondary schools is not new. I was offered that choice in the 80s! What is different now is that it is now COMPULSORY to choose an international language apart from English. Most of us then dropped those languages as soon as we can! Nobody is forcing Christians to learn Arabic. What CAN is afraid of is that if the compulsion to chose an international language is not changed, Christians may have no choice but to learn Arabic if no french teacher is available!
French and Arabic are one of the most widely spoken languages in the World. I see this as preparing our children for the future. My son is learning both. Most of those in CAN have children in private schools where their children are learning other International languages apart from English

French was not and was never recognized as national language to be thought in schools. You shouldn't say what you don't know.

Arabic language or French language was in the curriculum for over 40 years and it is being thought in Schools. Just because may be in the South they have deliberately not give students the option to choose in school doesn't mean it is not among. Stop assuming and face reality.


And Christianity despite originally written in Hebrew it is now English stuff, it literature is English. Should we say only Christian should offer.

Have i advocated for those in the North not be taught Arabic or those in South who love to learn it?

If a student wants to study French and a French teacher is not available, he or she should not be faced with having Arabic as the ONLY OPTION!
