It's a cultural term that unifies people from as far as Morocco to Iraq to Sudan. The only thing these people have in common is the language and certain cultural practices, but not a common ancestry. As a Somali, the only thing I've got in common with them is my religion. As for the Black label, I've already explained myself. In Somalia, they're just called Ishak and the Isahakia only seem to consider themselves as Arab in Kenya for some reason. I came across a few of them whilst I was in Kenya and they seem to feel superior to Somali refugees in Kenya for some reason. They're a peculiar community.

I don't think majority of Oromos like him. He had oppressed them just like others were oppressed.

Let me tell you one thing. Most Ethiopians believe that Amharas were past oppressors. They are NEFTEGNA and evil for all Ethiopians. This was what Italians told them during the occupation of Ethiopia. But, the truth is Amharas either suffered the same or worse than other Ethiopians. Yes, most of the past elites were Amharas, but the ordinary Amharas had suffered very much. During the period of Zemene Mesafint for example(1769-1855). Yejju Oromos were the oppressors at that time.

During Oromo population movement from mid 16th century to early 18th century, they had massacred, mutared organs and enslaved many Amharas and other Ethiopians. The likes of Yejju Oromos, Wello Oromos and Ray Oromos even migrated to northern Ethiopia and the Yejju Oromos became real rulers and the Abyssinia emperors became puppets to them.

The Wello Oromos settled in Bete-Amhara. Bete-Amhara was the place where Amhara people and culture originated. They changed that historical name to Wello/Wollo in 1855. Even if the place name isn't the previous name, gladly that historical place retained it's Amhara cultures and most of the different mixed people there identifie themselves as Amhara today. I'm a supporter of Bete-Amhara(house of Amharas).

It's only during Atse(emperor) Menelik II expansion to reunified previously lost territories that the Oromos were massacred, organ muted and enslaved just like other in that area. Surprisingly, the soldiers and generals were Oromo themselves and majority of the conquered Oromos themselves wanted to be part of Abyssinia.

How can Oromos the oppressors say they are the oppressed? I don't understand it and it's very funny sometimes.
