I like this forum. but come to think of it, we are here talking about shell and the most brilliant guy that graduated with first class in abroad when the YOUNG JOHN WICKED PRODUCER IS COUNTING IN MILLIONS, when DAVIDO has thirty billion in his account. when DON JAZZ, E-MONEY are flexing with 2016 range rover brand new, when WIZKID, OLAMIDE, PHYNO etc are buying houses worth of millions in Lagos and abuja, when GENEVIEVE NNAJI is the ambassador of range rover spot, when ordinary TEKNO, LIL CASH, MR EASY of yesterday are now the talk of the day. please can someone tell me the universities these guys graduated from and the grade they came out with. also can someone tell me the oil company or multinational company they are working. this is the time we should build ourselves. if you have the capital please venture into self employed biz. noting pays higher than that. if you doubt it please kindly ask DANGOTE and BILLGATE. thank you 2 Likes |

Silverkc: The people you have mentioned have towed their own line in the entertainment industry and are now successful. Some others have done same by towing their own line in SHELL, let us pray they become successful as well. 11 Likes |

What role did you apply for...All their engineering roles are highly competitive |
Re: Shell Nigeria Graduate Recruitment 2017 by Nobody: 4:07pm On Jun 20, 2017 |
Silverkc: In this post you mentioned John the wicked producer, Davido, Don Jazzy, E-Money, Wizkid, Olamide, Phyno, Genevieve, Tekno, Lil Kesh, Mr Eazi. News flash, most of the names up there at some point in their life earned salaries but that's not the point here. Now ask yourself this good question. How much does an A-List Celebrity in Nigeria earn (legally) per year? Very few (less than 10) earn between N100m and N500m while the rest of the so called celebrities are genuinely struggling to keep up. We all saw what happened to Dammy Krane. The ridiculous thing about the "celebrity lifestyle" in Nigeria is that the above figure is what they will earn when they are the peak of their career. Which rarely last 4/5 years. Ask yourself how many Nigerian Professionals earn this same figure working salary jobs. I'd be very surprised if they are not running into hundreds. Let's not get carried away with the celebrity lifestyle. That life has no insurance plan, no retirement plan, no medical plan, and absolutely zero plan because you're getting paid all at once. I'm not saying it's bad to be a celebrity, I'm just saying if you want to be one, fine. Leave me with my 60K salary job that comes with a medical insurance, retirement plan, career progression and development and a future hopes of earning and living better. It's not so much to ask for. People make the world go round and the world need everyone to make it work. The gate-man, bartender, musician, designer, plumber, engineer, lawyer, pilot, prostitutes, comedians, day dreamers, illusionists and what have you. We all need ourselves. So let's all learn to live with one another without anyone trying to change the earths balance. 7 Likes |

It seems most of us here applied for Engineering roles...I thought I saw some commercial roles advertised as well. I stand to be corrected but I am of the opinion that the commercial positions may be less competitive. Good evening everyone |
Re: Shell Nigeria Graduate Recruitment 2017 by applechekers: 4:21pm On Jun 20, 2017 |
psamies24: I applied for a commercial role two weeks ago. Praying for the best. The technical roles will definitely have higher standards and requirements. Probably why most getting regret mails fall in that group. |

Adebanjo253: Lmao! My brother remember some ppl had delay ish with the hirevue interview links. Some got theirs yesterday and d day b4, sm are yet to get. Nw, let's assume dose who got yesterday decide to take their time to do theirs after a week (7days), that would be 26th. [s]Also, those who applied on d last day (15th) and are yet to receive d hirevue link can keep pressing for it until the 25th when they would be automatically withdrawn if they don't receive d link. But if they do, they'd have 10days to from the day d link was received, to complete their first stage assessment. So, going by these factors, 4th is d last possible day to complete the first stage assessment.[/s] Now, what is d probability that love letter serving will not continue beyond dat "supposedly safe date"? What are the logical assurances that if you pull through to that date you are safe? Even an experienced computer programmer will find a hard time unravelling the algorithm shell is using to serve this love letter. Boss, na Grace, pressed down, shaken together and running over, naim pesin need for this shell Mata o and I don dey beg Baba God make He consider me for dat Grace. 2 Likes |

Adebanjo253: The criteria for technical section is strict and the position is highly competitive. I guess it come with an higher pay packet. So after 25th, the real screening beckons. God help us all. |

simplebb: Personally, i do not think so, standard is across board, otherwise it becomes double standard. One thing i have noticed about engineering students is that they have a natural feeling that every other discipline outside engineering is a walkover . Well, not everyone is on Niaraland and not all applicants on Nairaland enjoys commenting, some people prefer to sight things from afar. Check the bottom of this thread, there are about 15 guest at least viewing this topic on guest mode. check the total view and compare with total comment per moniker, you would see that there is enough interest in here already. Engineers react naturally, so they have high tendency to hijack the discuss of any group. God bless all Engineers and other professionals. 7 Likes 1 Share |

psamies24:Annual Bawo? Baba it' s every 25days at most. A 3rd engineer (entry level for engineering cadre) on a supply boat in a service company earns more than that. Don't forget the requirement to be a 3rd engineer is either a National diploma with 12months cadetship or WASSCE with 36months sea term. Degree doesn't count, just get your CoC and you are good to go! SHELLs pay is among the least within the IOC bracket. 2 Likes |

deepwater:@ first bolded: you didn't say what a degree holder on a ship earns. Degree counts for different positions and responsibilities @ second bolded, yes, they pay least but in my opinion, I think it's better to share 1 million between 2 individuals than pay it to just one. You never can tell which would take the company to the next level- good risk if you ask me. Thats what shell is doing. |

Time to santify the remaining days of this month against receiving a notification from shell... My sleeping hours changed abruptly following the massive distribution of love letters to gurus that are highly qualified than I am.... God of my fathers... God of celestial, PA. SBJ Oshoffa God of Dr. D. K Olukoya, Adeboye, Ibiyeome, Kumuyi. etc.. I come against regret mail and my expectations will not be dashed... Let me just go and get blood tonic.... majekdom2: As far as a Ship is concerned, your degree is for self knowledge, it doesn't get you a job. You can never be an officer with just a degree, you can never be employed on board the Ship as a sailing crew with just a degree. You must either have you CoC for officers cadre or CoP for ratings and GoC for radio operators. And these papers can be achieved without a degree. Marine is very different. 2 Likes |
