Hello...
my Visit Visa application was refused today. I was invited by a German friend (my mom's long time friend) for 3momths visit to hamburg. I have studied and passed A1 German language and she wanted me to experience Hamburg. My elder brother, who was born in Germany and has been there SEVERAL times (including January 2017) was also refused the visa (he was going for only a few weeks). Their reason were that
1. Justification for the purpose and intended stay was not provided
2. Intention to leave the territory before visa expiration could not be ascertained.
WHAT DO YOU THINK I DID WRONG.. (please note i had All stated documents INCLUDING a Formal Obligation letter). Should i have done something extra....

Secondly, i now want to apply for a language visa of 3months to study for the A2 course in Berlin or Hamburg. Do you think it is advisable? Would they approve a 3months language visa? (since i heard it has to be 6months- i stand to be corrected). What should i do correctly to get a visa this time..?
thanks

No it's hard to approve a language visa though some people do get language visas provided that they have conditional admission from a university or institution in Germany.

Can you write the transcript of how the interview went. Maybe it could be from the answers you gave them

sincerely you have confused me more than before as you can see your question need more info so we can know what your problem is cos i dont see any problem with changing of course you can choose any of the admission and forge ahead you might even get visa for a school in harmburge and finally head to berlin so i dont understand why you are still asking this at this point

She first asked me what my trip was.. i said for visit (she never asked anything relating to Hamburg or my schedule once there)

To whom- I mentioned the person's name and that she was a friend of my family for 35 years

If the person was married and had children- i said she was married with two children but only knew the name of one child.

was asked if i had seen the person before- said no but only pics and phone calls

She then asked what i do- told her i am a student, just finished Language School and would like to study in Germany later. (never asked when)

she asked what would become of the language course- i said i would be back to continue

she then asked if i was traveling with my brother (who has been there several times)- i said yes and that he was only escorting me since he knew the Person and her family better and also knew his way around Hamburg (he was going for just 2wks)

He asked what my brother did (since he was paying for our tickets but the German friend was taking care of all other expenses)- i said he manages an international sports NGO that manufactures handmade balls
And that was it

Damn shit's crazy.. If I had £8800, won't I have tried Ukraine or something ....anyways I'm sure not all the people here could afford that. Do you know what can be done?

You didn't convince her that you will return back.

I actually have a conditional admission from a Prep school in Magdeburg to do a one year foundation program. but on the letter they gave, it stated that i was going to learn German language up to B1 level in and continue the foundation program in September.
But looking at the time schedule (especially the length of the long term visa process), i decided to just apply for short term visa to do A2 this August-September (i have A1) and come back to apply for a school for Summer semester 2018

I think your mistake was mentioning you would like to study in Germany later. Maybe you could have just said "I'm a student without indicating your interest in studying in Germany later since you are just applying for visit visa

Why apply for short term visa?. You see that's the reason you were denied

If your interest is to do Foundation course which I believe is studienkolleg. Why not just apply for student visa this time around?
I believe you will get the visa this time around since your interest is to learn German and study later on.

Thanks to God. I just got admitted to University of Trier with an enrolment deadline of October 15th. Although I'm still expecting admission results from FAU Erlangen, Uni Seigen, Uni Jena, Uni hohenheim. I'm glad my efforts weren't in vein. Proceeding to the next stage with faith.

I'm not so sure though, other ogas can chime in.. But I'm certain you can fund at the rate you get the cash.

O ye of little faith, it doesn't mean that they don't want to give you visa. It's the deadline for enrollment that they now put into consideration because there are already many in the queue including yours sincerely.

guy read up some pages and know what studying in Germany entails.
don't compare Germany with Ukraine cry different choice for different folks.
sponsorship declaration or 8800€ blocked money or German\EU scholarship are the only thing that can get you German study visa.
