if you're smart enough to know 1+1=2 you would've seen that this is not an atheist vs theist debate, the first "Doctor" on this thread said he/she is a theist, Christian to be specific

about "holding on to belief" I'd expect people not only question my beliefs, but ridicule them when they're ridiculous. Someone who lets me keep believing the moon is made of green cheese isn't doing me any favors at all.

And if you are smart enough to know that 2+2=4, you would have realised that the female medical doctor whose credentials you were trying to discredit, did not say anything illogical or out of the ordinary. The account given by the patient shows clearly that multiple tests were performed on him, by his Nigerian consultant as well as the Indian and Australian doctors, both before and after he suffered from the ailment. sad

Are you saying both the foreign & local doctors were lying? As for saying the moon is green...surely, you exaggerate. That comparison does not correlate with the situation on ground. Now, if you'd still like to continue disputing the patient's account..... It is your call. I am done with you. sad

are you sure you're in the UK?

cuz a nurse was recently fired in the UK for offering prayer to patients

That's why I love my job and why I chose doing it this way rather than being cooped up in a hospital where I initially was. Outside those confines I can offer prayer for patients as we journey to hospitals without any resultant backlash and we do it a lot.

if you're smart enough to know 3+3=6 you would notice this post of yours doesn't in any way counter mine, I proved that this is not an atheist vs theist debate owing to the fact that the first person said he/she is a Christian and argued with another doctor who is also a Christian

its not a sin to study discussions and understand it, is it?

so its not illegal to offer prayers to a patient on the way to hospital but its illegal if one does that in a hospital?

Why would I not call it by its given name or should I have constructed a non existent name for it? My calling it by name does not show acknowledgement but it shows reference to another position which wasn't mine. Get it?

Lazarus syndrome is a known entity in medicine which is shrouded in mystery so do not make it sound like its a known entity as a fact of medicine which is empirically verifiable. That would be dishonesty.

Why don't you try this. The next time a person dies on your watch and you try resuscitation and it does not work, do not put down time of death but leave him to experience the Lazarus syndrome since all who came back according to you all had resuscitation attempts first carried out on them.

Try this on 100 dead people under your watch then state your observations. Deal?
Spontaneous remission of cancers is a known entity in medicine, with thousands of occurrences. Theories have been put forward, some more convincing than the others, that doesn't make it any less of a medical entity.

I've never submitted that all patients that had resuscitation attempts will achieve Autoresuscitation.

If a patient dies on my watch, after resuscitation attempts, I'll call it.
If the person regains spontaneous circulation, that's all swell. Just know that I won't call it a miracle though.

And if you are smart enough to know that 4+4=8, you would have realised that my initial post was not focused on an atheist vs. theist debate. I merely objected to the fact that one doctor was attacking another doctor by questioning her credentials, simply because she had made a statement borne out of her beliefs. Abeg, just swerve and stop seeking attention like a toddler.

Prayer is not illegal in hospitals here. Just that some people tend to push extremes which I have personally witnessed so I resolved to "suffer a temporary loss" by going out on the road in order to be able to do this without anyone making a video or complaining. If a Patient can only find comfort from God in a time of distress why should I deny them that comfort? We would pray together even while they have been strapped down and hooked up in the van.

Shey you see, other healthcare professionals are calling out Space.tacular, let it not be that I was saying that I'm ignorant of.
Maybe you 2 can learn a thing or two.
Lazarus Syndrome is not a miracle.

A syndrome is not an explanation.
Maybe u need to check a dictionary.
The last time I checked, u couldn't explain the pathophysiology which is as good as the reason behind it
You also couldn't tell us your specialty.

in your initial post, you said Spacetacular should "leave the atheists alone" even though the discussion isn't about atheism or theism at all

try using your brain, a trial would convince you

We are not talking about cancer. We are talking about death and autoresuscitation not spontaneous remission and you and I know why you would rather drop dead than agree that your Lazarus syndrome is not tenable in medicine as it is not an empirically verifiable medical position but simply an attempt to give a name to a mystery.

your psychological projection game is not up to scratch at all

nothing in their discussions so far involves atheism, I get this a lot from "intelligent" people like you, you can't get past labels or poisoning the well fallacy to have intelligent discussion and learn

all that's happened so far is "medical talk", nothing concerns "atheists", people that are engaging Spacetacular all claim to be in the medical field, a Christian also did for good measure

and this is the third time you're telling me you're done and its variations, don't you think you should put your money where your mouth is

What will you do when science finally describes the pathophysiology behind Autoresuscitation? Declare that there is no god or move on to another medical "mystery"?

Attempt to give a name to Medical mystery is nothing new. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy when it was initially being studied was thought to happen only to boxers so it was called Dementia Pugilistica but through the good works of Dr. Bennett Omalu, we now know exactly how it happens.
What if Dr. Omalu took the easy way out and said it was god?
