gammarays: I can only speak for Paris; cost of living is VERY high, higher than the uk IMO no jobs if you don't speak French. |

Hello All, I recently submitted my statement of account to embassy for visa, but unfortunately some issues came up and I have to withdraw money from the account. My problem now is that will the embassy know that the balance on the account is different from the balance on the statement ?. Will they actually call the bank to verify the balance ? |

Chukdee thank you for your reply, At least am not invincible. See this why most people use agencies to process their visas . I am a novice and I have been following the thread from page one. I have never had the intention of travelling outside the country but as the economic situation is getting harder everyday. What I have been able to deduce from the thread most of the people applying are either working in good companies or have fat accounts. What do I know I am just a screen printer who has manage to survive and feed my family for six years now. So my brother I think a paid conference is a better option for me aside meeting the conference fees what other documents would I need anybody in the house should please kindly take out time to assist I believe in niraland community. |

pogolowa1:Advice will only be given based on what we know. I can only advice you if you intend coming to study. Asides that, I can't advise on what I'm not sure of. Going for a paid conference means you are in tune with the profession of the Congress. Good luck brother. You will survive and make it |

Pheeeeew!!! Finally I am on the right thread. As an intro, I'm a prospective PhD student (ESSEC Business Sch) while my sis is an Erasmus Mundus scholar (starting from Uni of Bordeaux) both starting September. Our studies would be fully funded (scholarships + stipends), while she'll be on €1000 a month stipend, my stipends are higher, with more perks (quite juicy). After digesting the info on this thread (from page 1), one ambiguity still lingers; what is the average cost of living for an average student like either of us in communities around these schools (cergy, pontoise, Bordeaux) and even in broader France? Especially, important to us is accommodation. While our schools have beautiful accommodation arrangements, they are quite expensive compared to what we would prefer to pay (its the first time a family member is travelling out in the last 24 years, everyone expects you to save). Thus, we are would like to know if an individual could get accommodation in either of Clergy, Pontoise or Bordeaux for <€300. Thus crous website is so arcane, it would not even translate to English even on chrome. Hope I get answers from students and peeps living around these areas. Thanks guys cc: whitetiger511, justwise |

amofum: I think you might be able to get houses that cheap, I'm not familiar with that region. as long as its not Paris cost of living is cheap every where else. you can check leboncoin and appartager, but just be careful, there are scammers so don't send anybody money. another thing is the school's accommodation may work out better since you can get caf (rent subsidy), most private landlords don't like to give because it opens them up to tax authorities. Not so sure about your sister though since she's only staying 4 months and you need to be in France for at least 6 months to get caf. |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Nobody: 12:29pm On Jun 07, 2017 |
but let me tell you, 1000euro a month, is enough for rent(600euro a month o), food, phone internet and navigo bills and a little extra for shopping and travel in Paris, or out of France to other countries by bus and lodging in cheap hostels. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to save a huge chunk of that. |

amofum: The money is more than enough, I lived on less than 500 monthly although in CROUS accommodation. You can send a mail to CROUS in your school using Google translator although the period for taking requests ended 31st of May. People in Paris get grant of only 750 nthey survive. All the best |

Good Morning everyone,I happy to get this thread and have an urgent plea.... I made application to French embassy on may 19th 2017 to attend a congress and business exhibition in France that will commence on 12th June 2017. I already have a chinese visa on my passport which will expire on 17th June 2017 and I intend to connect to china from Paris after the 2 days exhibition. I waited for the passport to be out until 12th June the day the exhibition start but it was not released, afraid to lose the Chinese visa I went to the France embassy in Abuja on the same 12th June 2017 and applied for my passport to be return to me to enable me connect to China since the programmed in France has commence. They ask me to write application to that effect which I did and they ask me to go to VFS office next morning to collect my passport.....on getting there my passport was give to me with REFUSAL VISA STAMP!!! REASON : YOUR INTENTION TO LEAVE THE TERRITORY OF THE MEMBER STATES BEFORE THE EXPIRY OF THE VISA COULD NOT BE ASCERTAINED! I have my flight ticket and visa to china and stated I will stay in Paris just two days. I submitted all the documents requested from their check list with my personal account like 3.5 million and company account 400k(cous i do transfer on it steady),married cert. and my two son birth cert. ,company cert. incorporation, tax etc To cut the long story short......they gave me option of appeal with two months....plz should I appeal for this decision since the programmed I registered to attend has passed. Please house help answer for me. |

chistelcomputer: Please don't waste your time appealing. They would waste your time. If the program has passed leave it |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by amofum(m): 5:25pm On Jun 18, 2017 |
ogatboy: Thanks man, However, Essec business school doesn't have an established relationship with CROUS, thus I've been notified that i can now book my accommodation on the school's website coordinated by a department in the school's administrative section (ALLEGESSEC). I've been advised to make use of this option by a senior colleague at the school, at least for this first year. NB: It seems CROUS are still accepting applications, especially for Erasmus students to Bourdeaux. My sister got a message from her school equally instructing her to proceed to the CROUS webpage and make a reservation. I've sent you and whitetiger511 one innocuous pm respectively. I'll prefer a private audience over whatsapp. Hence, if it isn't too much you can reply the pm with your active lines. NB: Its time sensitive. Help the young man. |

amofum: I'll put my number on my signature just for a short time, or better still follow me and I'll send it to you; id follow you to. I don't have access to my email. Also I just saw a vacancy in Bourdeaux on my agency's website, for 5 hours a week. if your sisters interested I can give her tips on how to pass the interview. she can do the interview before she comes by Skype/phone; starts in September 6pm-9pm Mondays and 6pm - 8pm Thursdays. |
