I had many first person experiences with Ethiopian commando soldiers and Ethiopia army. They are very disciplined and are willingness to die for their country if that should be the way.

If Ethiopia has the 3rd strongest military by using only $350 million annual budget, then imagine how powerful we will be when we start to use annual budget like Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria which is above $2 billion.

Ethiopia has the largest peacekeeping force in Africa. It has participated in peacekeeping missions in Korea, Congo, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Burundi, Liberia, Sudan, South Sudan and Somalia.

Ethiopia is relatively the most safest African country. This is achieved because of the sacrifices of our soldiers to keep peace in neighboring border areas, especially in Ethio-Eritrea and Ethio-Somalia borders.

Ethiopia military has the best foot soldiers in Africa and one of the best in the world. Most countries in the world knows how strong Ethiopia military is and they had recognized it's strength. It's feared by African governments and rebel groups.

Alexander the Great once had the desire to conquer Ethiopia, but he knows how powerful they are and didn't went with his desire. We had crushed foreign invading enemies like Adal(supported by Ottoman Turks), Egypt, Mahadist Sudan and Italy.

There had/are many strong women in the military. Most of them are nurses, doctors and soldiers. There were/are also lower and middle level officials and few Generals. My cousin for example is among the only 5 any level women Generals in Ethiopia history. She is brigadier general.

My father was Major General(he passed) and my Doctor mother was Colonel before she retired from civil military life.

I had the visited our Air Force and Tanks previously and even had the honor to enter and see one of our M29 Jet.

There are only few countries in the world that can beat Ethiopian military.

The Kenya air force has received 3 C-145A Sky truck light twin engine aircraft. The KAF had requested for 6 C-145A through the Excess Defense Articles (EDA) program, however only 3 were allocated . The EDA website shows they were delivered on 4/04/2017.

It is fantastic to see that we continue to pursue local solutions. The army patronizes him well, i hope he's able to expand and grow quickly.

On the UAV front we've seen good progress, it should transfer to other areas. At the minimum 30% of our Land systems should be local, it can be done, and should be pursued vigorously.

We counter attacked and pulled them out of northern Ethiopia and our army was in their way to Asmara(Eritrea capital). Eritrea accepted UN peace treaty and our forces stopped their advance and returned to Ethiopia. Some of them stayed in Badem and still are present their.

Instrumental in defeating the Germans in North Africa during WW2

SAAF 2squadron was attached with the 18th US bomber squadron from 1950-1953 during the Korean war.

Fought the largest conventional war after WW2 from 1966 to 1989.

Between WW2 till the mid nineties the SADF was unquestionably the major military force in Africa.

Lately Nigeria, Angola,Morocco and SA all have modernised their defence forces, while Ethiopia is still stuck in the Cold War era with regards to equipment....your army has no modern: air defence, artillery, armour, infantry weapons your air force can only boast about their cold war era Su27s.....that's it.

Egypt has by far the most powerful military in Africa , 2nd Algeria a distant 3rd,4th and 5th is (Angola, South Africa and Nigeria.....no particular order!!) 6th and 7th is between Ethiopia and Kenya.

It was never 3 kills.

Regardless if it was 3 or 5 SAAF had 25 aces(5 kills or more) and those 25 shot down 257 axis aircraft.

There were also 16 South African aces that flew for RAF during WW2 racking up 220 kills between them.

The most successful commonwealth pilot during WW2 was South African Tom Pattle he had confirmed 41kills.........he tried to join SAAF when he was 18 but was rejected so he flew for RAF instead.
