I don't think you Kanuris are immigrants in Jigawa.
Prior to the creation of the first 12 states in 1967, there was nothing like state boundaries. States are heavily artificial.
So i think it would be wrong to say Jigawa is hausaland, as long as those minority groups there are not completely enclaved by hausa communities, rather Hausa land is part of Jigawa. Likewise, we cannot say Borno state is part of Kanuri land, rather Kanuri land is part of Borno state.

The Kanuris that can be regarded as immigrants are those in Lafia who are completely enclaved and cut off from main Kanuri land.
