Fellow Nairalanders, a friend of mine urgently needs your sincere advice. I also have told him the best of my opinion but he said he still needs some other people's opinions as well. A week ago (specifically on a Friday) , his wife went to pick up their kids from school. Being a mum, she decided to trim their finger nails because she taught it could be dirty. As she picked up the hand of her 4 year old son, she noticed the finger nails on his right hand where cut. She asked and he said "the school security man cut my finger nail when I was on break in school". Ehn!!! You said what? She went to the school and confronted the man with wisdom and the man owned up saying he noticed his nails were dirty so he decided to help the boy cut the nails. The mother became very angry and started throwing tantrums. She immediately went to see the proprietress of the school and when the man was called in front of her, he owned up. When asked why he did it, he said "na help I just won help the boy ". "And you had to help only on the right hand alone? Where are the finger nails" , the mother of the boy asked, "I wrapped it inside a paper and threw it away" he said. To cut the long story short, the school authorities have been begging my friend not to escalate the matter or involve the police as it may tarnish the image of the school who according to them "set the standard of the school on Christ". Please concerned parents, what will you do if this happened to your child and what advice can you give my friend. Sincere opinions please.

Isn't the child supposed to be in class at all times so to speak?

Recently we heard a teacher cut nails of a pupil for fetish purposes in one school so they too shouldn't take this matter lightly at all!!!!

Move your child to a different school as soon as possible. I don't take such chances more than once...

She should ask the child if that was the first time he did it. And then, the gateman should be investigated properly and asked to provide the nail he cut since it is wrapped in a paper. The man probably has ulterior motives

You don't just cut the nails of a child which you are not related to..
The security man must actually be investigated...
In the western world, he will be arrested..
Op tell your friend to ask the school to sack the man or you take your child out of the school..
who knows the number of innocent kids that he had cut their nails in the past, people like that must not be trusted..
All that is needed now is to take your child to your pastor, pray for him and anoint him..
This is Africa, men are wicked and things like this should not be taken for granted.

Thank you so much. He said he and his wife (after the confrontation with the school authorities) went to their pastor with their son and they prayed on the child that no ulterior motive, spiritual or physical should affect the child. I told him that was a nice move but still investigate the security man.

The school proprietress and the proprietor said they would investigate if that was the first time. And that the man would be disciplined, so says my friend.

He is considering that too. Being that it's already 3rd term and exams are coming up, he would want him to finish there then take a stand on changing their school.

I trust my wife, she will first turn everything upside down in that school before reporting to the police.

If this was the case, tell your friend not to hesitate involving the police. Why would he do such a thing? It is obvious that he has sinister motives. Better still, the school authorities should involve the police themselves to salvage what is left of their dignity
