Northern Nigeria is a very big place. It should be about twice the size of Kenya. Boko haram has been largely contained to just one northern state and there are 19 northern states.

Fulani heardsmen attack is a menace, the last fight in Ile-ife, Yoruba land, only Yoruba people were arrested including their King, no Fulani was arrested, same with other areas where they have maimed and killed many.

However, i give him some credit in his fight for corruption which he is neither doing in a civilized way, and his enemies are the major targets, also Boko Haram attacks have reduced, even this can be debated cos some say he has a hand in the origin, as for the Chibok girls release, only gullible minds would fall for that mirage, they are just good with making noise and propaganda with nothing to show for it, don't be surprise some people you see here on NL are paid propagandists...

His vice is an educated and wise man, one of the reasons Nigeria is still standing as a country. Right now my own people are even clamouring for independence.

After Menelik(he is Shewa Amhara) reconquered SW, S and SE areas from Abyssinia, the different ethnicities in those areas were suppressed from speaking their language and follow their culture. The official language and culture of Abyssinia/Ethiopia became Amhargn and Amhara respectively. If anyone wants to go to school, hospital and serve in the government or military, they must speak Amharic. None Amhara people were disrespected, so to avoid this, many people from different backgrounds started to identify themselves as Amhara and follow Amhara culture.

The Tigrays were very powerful and relatively better resisted the Amharanizition process.

This dominance declined after the fall of Haile Selassie and Derg. Now, even if the Amhara culture is dominate and their is some Amharanizition process against Kemant Agew of Gondar, it isn't like the past dominance.

Note: the ordinary Amharas didn't enjoyed life that much then. Even if there culture was the dominant, they faced hardships just like the others.

We Amharas though we are going to rule Ethiopia for 1000 of years, but it failed.

We are also not tribal, so if anyone(including you ) wants to be Amhara, then all of you are welcome.


From lower Grade up to 6 grade, people in regions like Amhara, Gambela, Benishungul-Gumzas and Southern people learn using Amharic for all subjects and also take English subject.
From Grade 7 up to end of university, all subjects other than Amharic are reached using English.

From lower Grade up to 6 grade, People in regions like Tigray, Afar, Oromia and Somalia learn using their respective languages for all subjects and also take English subject.
From Grade 7 up to end of university, it's the same like the above.

I wouldn't comment much on Jonathan development thingy coz am not from naija but have to agree to a certain degree with what you said..had a friend from North (Fulani or Hausa can't remember) before election an I can tell many guys from north did not like Jonathan ..it wasn't because of development stuff but more to do with tribal or even religious affiliation.

The guy told me Jonathan will loss an when that happens the guy will travel back to naija.an that what happened..

Look, let me tell you the reality in Ethiopia and Eritrea. Some Habesha and some non Habesha people in Ethiopia and Eritrea mostly associate blackness with slaverly. So that is why some of them say, "yes, I'm black, but I'm not like the other Africans". Slaverly had existed in the Horn of Africa for many thousands of years like in any other parts of the world. Slaves were classified into 2(Red and black slaves). The red slaves were relatively treated better than the blacks. The black slaves came from Gambela, Benishangul-Gumza and southern Ethiopia. They were called Baria or shankela Baria by Amharas and other Habesha people. Baria means in Amhargn "slaves" or "black".

Western and some southern Ethiopians are also still called Baria as an insult by some Habeshas and Oromos.

Before colonialism, the Hausa-Fulani were easily the most advanced Nigerians. They had the best tax code, they could read and write in Arabic, they were administrators etc. As at this time, many ethnic groups in were at very primitive levels. You don't have to agree with all her posts but that's the truth.

Inflation is 17.6% that is reality, a figure, a fact. It can't be sugar coated and you can't spin "my view" on it. Same applies to other indices.
