hello guys, i plan to sue diamond bank for a billion Naira but first will like to hear your advice before i proceed. On 3rd of march 2017 i sold a mobile phone for a customer for 50,000 Naira and he said he was not with cash that he will like to transfer the amount to my account.I gave him my diamond bank account number and he transferred the money ASAP. i got the alert and my balance became 60,000 Naira cos i was having 10,000 Naira prior to the 50,000 received. Immediately i transferred 15,000 Naira to my sister and was left with a balance of 45,000 Naira. I gave the customer the phone and he left my place.After my working hours i tried to withdraw some money from my account for the weekend and i got the message invalid account from the ATM. i felt it was a network problem and i decided to transfer some money with my mobile app to my access bank account only to find out the my account was showing "-4921" i still felt it was network issue and i left it. On Monday 6th of march i went to the bank to lay a complaint only for the customer care lady to tell me that the money paid to my account was recalled back by the sender.I was shocked and i asked her how possible will my money leave my account without the bank calling to first. She promised to email the department involved and i should have patience.I called the buyer of the phone there in the bank to find out if truly he recalled the money he sent to me for the mobile phone he bought and he replied "O BOY NA NAIJA WE DEY NA SO THE GAME BE" and he ended the call and switched off his phone. I told the customer care lady what he sender of the money just said to me and she said the bank will help me get my money.Its getting to the fourth month and still no sign of me getting my money as the bank just took my case for granted. Now am thinking of suing the bank for aiding theft against me. Please lawyers in the house do i really have a case here? your advice is needed as i am really confused here.i have called the banks customer care and even twitted their handle but still no good response from them.

You have a good case here just look for a good lawyer,go and print out all the evidences of the transactions from your phone and keep it safe

i wish i can get a lawyer here to help me..all the lawyers i have gotten have been charging me like hell and i dont have that kind of money to spend.i still have all the email and text the bank have sent to me concerning the case

You have a good case bro, the worst they should have done is to freeze the account until the issue is resolved. Sue the bank, they'll not pay you 1 billion oh, but they'll negotiate with you to reduce the amount. Whatever they give you just collect it and withdraw the case otherwise you better be ready to go to court for 5 years. The people are influential. Goodluck

This is really annoying. Left for me, I would accuse the bank of theft nd not the other guy nd make sure they don't attend to any other customer until the issue is resolved.


In as much as suing seem like a good alternative, would advice you not to coz the judiciary is very slow nd u might end up spending over 50k without any good result unless u have Ogas at the top to fight for you.

i'm thinking of storming their head office on monday and demand to see the ceo...i dont know if its a good idea sef...i just feel cheated and its very bad

Your best bet is to smear their image, go to any of their branches, preferably where your account is domiciled and keep ranting, threatening to sue them.
Cos as far as going to court, you'll lose so bad you'd wish you had accepted your fate.
Even govt dey lose sure case for Naija courts.

I bank with Diamond bank and have had my issues resolved in the social media space.

My advice is that you tweet their Contact center handle; @Diamondbankhelp I bet you would have them jumping around on their toes to have your issue resolved.

same here...I was having a remaining balance of 2k... so I say make I withdraw my last 1k inside take chop, on getting to d ATM I said I should just check my acct balance(whether miracle fit happen), wat I saw made me to scream JESUS!!!my acct balance was -8,525.00. na so everybody wen dey d ATM post burst laugh even though dem no knw wetin make me shout...I jst carry shame waka commot dere. na from dat day I tell diamond bank bye bye because I fit go deposit money inside dat account make I kon see say dem don deduct d 8,525.00 because with my small sense of accounting any negative sign on ur balance mean say u dey owe... abeg I no get strength to kon dey explain to customer care..

i sent you an email...thanks for ur concern..its almost the fourth month now and i must say diamond bank messed up big time..i doubt if i will ever make use of that unsecured bank ever again

what rubbish!!! Even if a sender is allowed to recall, such funds should be on Hold for at least 3-5 business days, not released immediately! This is not smart /customer friendly.. You better fight dirty, tarnish their reputation on all social media, #diamond bank aiding scam.. I bet they will be the one to call you ..

my sister God bless u ohh...before a recall can be made the owner of the account must be contacted first..if not anybody can pay for anything and after having what they want they go to their bank and recall the payment made.i was never contacted and diamond bank that was suppose to protect my money aided a scammer to dupe me easily...i have made up my mind to get my money back and wont give up..

on may 27 2017 i got a call from the scammer guy asking me to come drink beer with him and his friends...and they were all laughing..i belief they must have been doing this to other people too..i felt really bad after receiving that phone call

its obivious that diamond bank dont want to refund my money because i just got a text from them saying my case has been closed..please any body in the house with info on how i can visit any radio station to tell me story...i will be very gratful cos e be like say diamond bank na yahoo bank
