MiddleDimension: so you call eid el fitr , sallah celebration in nigeria ? thanks for the info for meat , i think you mix between eid el fitr and eid el adha , (first is after ramadan month of fasting) and the second with ram and meat is during hadj , so for eid el fitr in north africa They buy new clothes for children ,make traditional eid cakes, and visit their whole family , i get tons traditional eid cakes from familly friends despite being an atheist , 1 Like |

chkil0: i know the difference between the two celebrations. remember Nigeria especially northern nigeria is also part of the islamic world. yes, eid el fitr and eid el kabir (adah) are also called sallah in nigeria. so barka de sallah to you and everyone in north africa! and an atheist in the islamic world?! i am wondering if you are open about your atheism? if you are open about it, how easy is life foe you there as ab atheist? if u look on the bbc's website, you will find a story of a nigeian in kano who was taken to the psychiatric hospital because he renounced islam and became an atheist. down here, people still have attitude to you if you say you are an atheist. i experienced this when i started being open about my atheism. 1 Like |

http://www.janes.com/article/71769/nigeria-reportedly-acquiring-12-su-30-fighters Nigeria reportedly acquiring 12 Su-30 fighters Jeremy Binnie, London - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly 26 June 2017 Nigeria received two Sukhoi Su-30 multirole fighters earlier this year and will receive another 10 in 2018, the Sputnik news agency reported a senior Russian official as saying on 26 June. "In 2018, Russia will supply 10 Su-30 aircraft. Thus, the contract will be completed by the end of next year," said Anatoliy Punchuk, the deputy director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC). The report did not identify the Su-30 variant that was being acquired by Nigeria, which was not previously known to be interested in the aircraft. The Nigerian Air Force was known to be lining up the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 Thunder, but the finalisation of that deal has yet to be confirmed. Want to read more? For analysis on

The above subject is an interesting piece of news. When it was first shared, i blew it off as probably an error by the reporter from Sputnik. Unfortunately Airborne360 and his buddy in the Nigerian Air Force have both disappeared from nairaland.com. They would have shared more light. |
