Well we decided to remind those who might not know because some so-called zikist movement chose to castigate Nnamdi Kanu for making a valid point. Must we play politics with everything ?

The ojukwu that "embraced" his people, what benefit does that have on igbos?

But it's the truth, no point to be nice or diplomatic, especially those living outside the SE in Nigeria.

No he did not. Awolowo died at the ripe age of 78. He achieved what a million men can only dream of in his lifetime. What is your own achievement other than about afonja muslim all over nairaland like a programmed robot?

Awolowo even lived longer than your king ojukwu. grin
Hoe-jew-kwu died of heartbreak, no thanks to the Randy Afonja with a big phallus. He destroyed the elasticity of Bianca's ponyo and the transgendered coward's heart couldn't bear the pain, so he died miserably of a broken heart.

Today, his subjects are the afonja's most loyal slaves. grin grin

SoNature:

Zik lived in cloud cuckoo land, trying to be a nationalist - something that was a clear mirage.

The Nigerian state doesn't encourage nationalism so you shouldn't expect the Igbos to jubilate on hearing the mention of Zik, a supposed nationalist.

Awolowo was a parochial leader and as a consequence, he was (and till date, still) celebrated by the Yorubas. Tafawa Belewa was to the north what Awolowo was to the west.

Instead of Zik copying from these people, he was busy trying to be a nationalist.

No tribe has ever been
fooled with the "One Nigeria" concept like the Igbos...yes, Rochas will be its next causality.

Nnamdi Kanu didn't insult Zik...he merely shared the view of an average Igbo man about Zik. Late Ojukwu, a sectional leader, was worshipped and respected more in the east.

ZIK was a former president. You can't expect him to dump that nationalist ideology for secession. You clearly don't know how leadership works. In those days, political affiliation was about ideology and conviction and not about money or selfish interest like we have it today.

Ojukwu can never be greater than Zik, I repeat can never be greater than Zik. Ojukwu plunged the igbo nation into civil war because of his personal issues with Gowon, that's why d Aziikwe did not support the madness that caused the lives of my igbo brethens. Now that fraudster, Kanu is already stirring up enthic sentiments against the igbos, he thinks he's doing us a favour, he doesn't know he's damaging our cordial relationship with other enthic groups.

Mynd44, this poster called me "Afonja" while replying my comment. I replied him making the "afonja" bold and called him "Osu" in return, making the Osu bold to let let whoever sees my reply understand what I called him is in retaliation to what he called me. Suddenly my comment was hidden while his was left standing!

No need to be politically correct. If Kanu likes Shagari more than Zik he is free to do so. Truth is, Zik is not a champion of Biafra like Ojukwu and those who gave their lives for the cause.

Truth is there is no special marginalisation of Ibos, they only played bad politics in 2015 and they've not let go the disappointment. Period !

Nnamdi Kanu has opened so many eyes to the realities of "one Nigeria". Yes his earlier speech was full of hate, still it is not less than they deserved and hate speech is hardly one sided.

The IPOB successful sit-in showed that the vast majority of 30 million Igbo people can put away their difference s and come together for a common purpose, Biafra.
If you want to test the bond of Igbo put forth a referendum.

As an igboman I think there is no need wasting time over this issue, Nnamdi Kanu has express his own view but it is now Left for his followers to decide whether he's still on the right track or not. To me a true leader remain that which takes care of the needs (spiritual and physical) of his people (like the True Shepherd, Jesus Christ), someone who can see the future (like Joseph did) and lead his people to the promise Land, and that I did/have not seen on any of these. Whoever desires to be the true leader of the IgboNation must have the true fear of God and must be ready to lead us according to God's instructions and not personal view. There is no true freedom outside of Christ, he has paid the price for our total freedom and Him alone can deliver His own people from their affliction, but KANU is yet to accept His Lordship. Have you accepted Jesus into your life? Tomnorrow may be too late.

What cordial relationship? Kanu is a realist and bold, he tells it like it is. There was never any cordial relationship, maybe a little tolerance, never cordial.
The root word of diversity is divide, if you want to enjoy cordial relationship with them you would push for the dissolution of Nigeria. After all, Malaysians and Singaporeans get better along now that they are separate nations better then they ever did when they were together.

Zik was aware of the 1st IBO coup of January 15 1965 and instead of advising them against it he instead from few days to the coup he left the country to go on sea cruise to the Caribbean the resultant effect of his action is what we are witnessing today in the country.
