KaptainAfrika: If for instance I'm a well travelled person with travel history of Japan, Germany, UK, France amongst others but I have my siblings, wife and children all living legally in Canada and go there to visit them twice a year briefly and normally always come back to Nigeria, why then will the VO grant me a visa to the US just to visit a friend? Will such decisions be easy for him to make or not? My family ties and travel history, which trumps the other here? |

I'm really enjoying this forum i have learn so much. I apply for visiting visa 2 years back and was denial but want to apply again for a religions conference in US, I try to apply using my last login Application since i can't create a new application and i discovered that my information details was seen there and i have done a slite update on the application as regards to my new purpose of travelling but the old confirmation number is still showing and my question is this. 1. Can i complete my visa application using the old D160 confirmation number printout for interview. 2. If No! how do i generate a new D160 confirmation number using my old login application form. Thanks for your respond in advance. |

OmoBendel24: @Omobendel I'm with you on that... A single man who is well traveled and his earning is average can get a visa than someone who has not traveled out but earn good money the reasoning behind this is that the well traveled man has demonstrated at every opportunity to respect the immigration law of every countries he has been to and also he did not overstay his visit. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello guys, want to apply for visa for my kids 7 and 5 years old to visit my wife's sister, who is American citizen. Want them to follow my wife's mum, who is travelling by August, she already has visa. How do I go about it, who will take them to the embassy for interview? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by OmoBendel24: 3:41pm On Jun 27, 2017 |
batuta: Either you, your wife or your mother in-law, but you preferably to tone down some presumptions. Neither you nor your wife has a US visa? Who is sponsoring the trip? Just one irrelevant but askable question, what is their school fees? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 4:27pm On Jun 27, 2017 |
seyewest:This is my view as well. A "non virgin" passport is better than a zero travel history fellow. Bearing in mind that the visa MUST be real, with actual travel and to a "better " country. Yes. Folks with zero travel history get visas but IMO it's better to go to the us embassy with some thing the vo can look at and be comfortable. That's not to say that if Osibanjos daughter goes to the embassy now without any prior travel that she will not be given. Why? Because clearly Nigeria is green for her and she will return. So for the applicant out there whom the vo cannot see his green Nigeria (sic ) I advise you to get travel history ist 2 Likes |

KaptainAfrika: Its funny because I'm not a traveling agent. I replied/answered the person who needed opinion on his or her case . I just got denied a U.S. Visa . Considering I have a good paying job ( Yes that's the truth ) . My wife works with with top manufacturing company in Nigeria with GOOD salary plus we have kids . We filled our form honestly and sincerely but to my surprise we were rejected after we answered all questions asked but the deal breaker was when we were asked if we've ever traveled out of Nigeria and we said no , at that point it was case closed . She flipped through our passports and found nothing. She said we can apply when out situation has changed. Secondly, we experienced lots of people's interview and right on the Que. I understood what these Vos are looking for , the way they rate ties ( social - economic ties ) . They were just dashing out white papers to aged applicants because these people understands that it's not easy for aged people to "run away" unlike the younger ones ( 18-40s) . Now I understood better than I was, because I was privileged to hear most of the Vos interviews . Some cases are different though because you would see some applicants that you were expecting to be rejected and got the visa eventually ( the Vos can have mood swing in life ). That's my simple and honest advice thanks 11 Likes 1 Share |

Again I'm not soliciting for Schengen visa or UK visa or any form of visa . What I stated was that people should consider going to countries that would give you a sticker - visa instead of what neighboring countries ( GHANA, BENIN, TOGO etc) would offer which is stamp . FOR US EMBASSY PLS TRY TO GET SOMETHING WORTH TRAVEL HISTORY , assuming we all understand the importance of travel history to convince them we aren't running away and we have good things we can't swap anything for in Nigeria 2 Likes 1 Share |

Mikehk2: As long as such travel history isn't easily seen to be unnecessary and a deliberate attempt to con the VO, cool. Such example includes misguided personal trips (within 6, 9 to 12 months when you have never had even one before oh) to Dubai, SA, India and maybe Europe in quick successions by one who is supposed to be busy working particularly after being refused a US visa, no hard and fast rule though 1 Like |

@pepe4reps First of: I am a lady. A fine burriful one at that o!!! . No muscle or any man thing. Lol Yes. Travel to shengen country is good. BUT. Yes. BUT. What is your purpose of travel? What are your other home ties. People with certain travel history were refused. I'm guessing because the vo looked at their whole profile and deciphered that the trip was just to "buffer up" their ds 160. Do you have a good job? What is your purpose of travel? Are you married? Kids? Have you misrepresented? Being denied before? Violated another country's visa terms? These are ALL the factors under consideration. Not just whether you have travelled. Let me paint a picture. A security man. Earns 35k. Unmarried. Goes for an interview with Shengen travel history. If I were a vo, I know he can get paid 75k a month under the table for that same 'Gate Man job". Will I give him a visa? Most likely not. Cos he's a flight risk IMO. So u should consider all these factors before flinging your money |

seyewest: I wouldn't know... My emphasis is strictly on those considering travel history as one of the ties required for certain cases like mine .. People get US VISA WITHOUT travel history yet there are some cases that are hard to overcome without competent travel history . #myopinion 1 Like |

What I cannot, and have never understood is this DESPERATION to visit and migrate to the USA Many people say they want to go for a vacation. Folks, there are myriad places you can go for a vacation with way less visa hassle and less expensive than good ole US of A. The Carribean, for instance, are a glorious vacation getaway. Many places in Europe, too. I can understand those who wish to visit family. But if you get denied, chill. It's not the end of the world. Rushing to go get 'travel history' just so as to get a US visa is just, well, make I no talk. First time I applied for a US visa was to attend a sporting event. By the time I got an appointment scheduled, it was a couple of days to the end of the the event. I didn't get it. Second time was for a family event. I booked an appointment in Lagos and then to be safe, another in Abuja (back then you could book multilp,e appointments). Got there, got denied for reasons that were my fault. So I went to Abuja a couple of weeks later (abi na days sef, my memory fails me), got my application approved. My kids were born in the US. Wife is a USC. But for over 10 years, I never bothered to file for IV. Over the last few years, every time I get to The US, the CBP officials would ask why I haven't filed for IV. We would joke about it, they'd stamp me in and that would be the end of that. I simply divided my time between both countries. Then have the family come over for the summer months. Overall, we would have between 6-9 months per year as a family. It was only two years ago that we (mostly them) decided I should file. I've traveled to every continent on the planet, and there are tons of beautiful places to spend a vacation at. I remember that first time when I didn't get a visa. I got my girlfriend (before we got married) to meet me in Greece for a holiday. We had tons of fun on the crystal clear waters of the pristine beaches, visited historical sites (including the Parthenon), took the ferry from Eretreia to Athens. Hopped to Thessaloniki for a boat ride. We had the time of our lives! Mikehk2: 6 Likes |

I took a trip to the U. S (New York) last week and was refused entry. My Visa was cancelled. Reason being that I'm visiting an address different from that I used at the point of applying for the visa. What do I do now? |
