careerwoman: dear careerwoman, i always try to reiterate the fact that every application is different. i also try as much as possible to say things i know and i point out some are my opinion and personal or family experience. my last TRV application was last year and it was to attend my sister's convocation in which i had family members i intend to travel with who already have valid TRVs. my application was made 55days to my travel date with evidence i have family I'm traveling with for an important event when the processing time on CIC's website was 51days. i missed the event even after sending them mails and the TRV was approved 6weeks after the event and about 14 weeks after the application. its simple to understand. if, for example, your employer or bank is delaying to verify your employment status or legitimacy of the provided POF documents respectively, would the VO go ahead to process? this is why applications made at same time have their decisions made at different times. well, this is how i understand the process works and thanks for sharing your experience too |

Aktyso: hi Aktyso, please understand that a VO is trained to link an applicant's ties to his/her home country not the country of application per say as you don't have a residence permit in the US with a NIV B1B2 visa. applying in the US can only deliver a decision sooner and not surely positive. all VOs receive same training. prior travel to the US also doesnt guarantee a canadian visa. it plays an important role in your application but the VO is judging your entire circumstance and timing to help him/her make a decision.apply for you GCMS notes to learn in detail why you were refused. in my opinion, being a 'de facto resident' is one major concern a VO may have for US visa holders so in your new application, integrate your itinerary into your explanation letter to make your travel plans clearer and never fail to make your engagement back home crystal clear. best of luck |

Hello, been following this thread for the past week. Im aplying online for tourist visa. I am being sponsored by my uncle and i have provided his bank statement in the past 4mths with a balance of #10m. My question is, do i still need to show my own bank statement or payslip from work? And can anybody please provide me with a good format for a cover letter? Thanks. I want to submit today hopefully |

scaezar:Why is ur uncle sponsoring ur trip? Are u going for study? Are u not an adult who can take care of urself? |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by scaezar: 8:04am On Jun 25, 2017 |
Menakay: Its a tourist visa. Im not going for study. I believe his bank statement is stronger than my own thats why im using his. Im just going for a month. I just want to go see canada because I have a long leave at work. |

scaezar: Bro, let's be realistic here. You are a full blown adult, possibly a graduate who works and gets paid, yet your uncle is sponsoring your trip. Why on earth would your uncle pick up such responsibility when he probably has a family or other things he is responsible for? Most times, it's not about the huge sums in one's account(s) that secures the visa but the intent If you were the VO reviewing this kinda case, will you grant the visa? Anyway, that's just my opinion, you just might apply and get it. We can't really predict a VO's decision. 1 Like |

Jawa:I agree with you. Various factors play different significant roles in one's application. All I have to say to every one applying, let your intent be true, double check your documents, follow your instincts and trust God (if you're a believer). everything will be made beautiful in His time.. 1 Like |

Please house I need your help with this confusing questions; 1.Purpose of visit; Is attending a film festival in Canada regarded as Business or Tourist ? 2.Regarding Employment for the past 10 years " my current job starts "FROM 2014", but the application form requires a TO,in order to show when the job will end.My question is since I'm presently still in my current job, what will i write on the column "TO ? 3."Should the film festival or hotel accommodation be used as my contact in Canada? Yjc07: I put the same date as the day I was applying and validating the form. I guess they understand it means till date. If you are attaching a letter of explanation, just mention that you are currently employed. |

Yjc07: Do you have an invitation from the film festival organizers? |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Yjc07: 12:13am On Jun 27, 2017 |
No,I don't have an invitation from the festival but I have already registered and fees paid to attend the festival. More so,it's not a problem because I have my film submitted in the festival. I recently returned from United States 3 weeks ago where I also attended a film festival in New York as an attendee. mesh2003: |

Yjc07: Yes break it down on each form. They also know you are travelling as a family. On your letter of explanation you can then say that you have a total of 10k for the trip. Sorry am responding late. Time difference. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mesh2003(f): 5:33pm On Jun 27, 2017 |
Yjc07: Your purpose of travel is all documents related to your trip. Put the film festival tickets, and any activity you will be doing. There is really no format. But your write up will be on the letter of explanation section if you are applying online. don't know about paper application |
