Ginaz: Looooool funny girl Sry for the late reply but I'm back. Deep conditioning should make your haur feel soft for at least a week, during the week you take care of it by spraying water every morning and apply a leave in conditioner to then seal everything with an oil. That will be sth like a "refreshment" and then you just use your fingers to style. If necessary you can use that comb they use to style (sry no idea what it's called in English but that sharp comb they use to part the hair ) to do any parting, while supporting it with your hands. I can't really explain to you hoe to style your hair because a video is just the best way to go about that. Perhaps you should do it on stretched hair and yes you can use a wool to stretch your hair too. Some ideas are also on page 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvBf2CmO7wM 1 Like |

Hey y'all. Here are some pics taken at my Loctician's place. Before and after. First, she sectioned my hair. The lines and little squares are called the sisterlocks grid. Please don't quote pics, I'll delete them soon, thanks. *EDITED* |
Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by Nobody: 12:53am On Jun 30, 2017 |
lovelygurl:Yes, there are 533 of them. It took 17+ hours to finish. She counted each section as she did them and we also counted when she finished. Swollen ke? After two days? lol. I wish! I was told I should see a difference in the growth and thickness within 2 months. I'm taking biotin and silica to speed up growth as well as thicken them. They'll swell in size as they grow, so they will not remain the size they are now! Nikita1:lol. Go for it! I feel liberated already. I've given away ALL my hair products and combs b/c I no longer need them!! Freedom!! 1 Like |

I've been reading/watching a lot about natural hair but I've not really watched a video that explained the reason why we have curly or tightly coily hair, the way this video did. Really informative and easy to understand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va6USvUF7wY 4 Likes 1 Share |

how my hair looks like after Washing with black soap.
what do I do to my front hair for it to grow? |
Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by Nobody: 6:45pm On Jul 27, 2017 |
AgbenuAnna: Using black soap alone might dry your hair but you can mix it with oils. Black soaps melt easily, so just put it into a bowl, pour a little amount of hot water for it to melt and them add any oil you wish to use. You can then pour it in a bottle and voila you have your shampoo. I loooove black soap. It's really good for the skin too . Not you face though...too drying but I swear it will make your skin (body) smooth because it exfoilates, meaning gets rid of dead skin cells I always spray my edges with water and then massage a little bit of oil while it's still damp. I do that every night before going to bed. You can try that out. My edges are full. You can use olive oil, castor oil or sunflower oil 1 Like |

AgbenuAnna:the black soap you're using is drying out your hair, including your edges. |
Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by AgbenuAnna(f): 7:50am On Jul 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl:thanks,I will mix it with olive oil.my edges was damaged before I big chopped, I have been using olive oil, cocunut oil and Shea butter but it seems am not seeing any significant result yet,I think patience will be a virtue I need to possess for that. |

WiredLeggings:my edges was damaged b4 I big chopped, I just started using the black soap. Can you recommend a good and affordable shampoo and conditioner for me?I really don't know my hair type |
Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by Nobody: 8:03am On Jul 31, 2017 |
AgbenuAnna: Any sulphate free shampoo will do. Just use it directly on your scalp cause that's what shampoo is for, to cleanse the scalp. Then the lather from the shampoo should cleanse your hair, that way your hair won't dry out. Before washing your hair, prepoo with coconut oil, it makes the hair really soft. For your edges, don't manipulate it too much. Castor oil is great to regrow your edges. Some people even add peppermint oil for faster result. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNhI8VWLJoY 1 Like |

Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by Nobody: 11:24am On Jul 31, 2017 |
AgbenuAnna: Remove the shea butter from the list. It's only a sealant and will never penetrate your hair shaft. It might be blocking the hair follicles. It's supposed to be put on the hair not scalp. And make sure the coconut oil and olive oil are VIRGIN. Virgin coconut and olive oil are cold pressed. They still have all those vitamins and stuff but if it's not. All the good stuffs will be gone because of the heat applied, while the oil is pressed from the olives and coconuts |

Nice work you guys are doing here. Please do you advise I style my natural hair with gel cos someone said it doesn't cut hair and I've been thinking otherwise? Thank you |
Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by Nobody: 9:54am On Aug 04, 2017 |
gracile: All gels make your hair dry and maybe stiff, so it should not be used every time especially on your edges. Dry hair always leads to breakage. Some gels are worse than the other, aloe vera, flaxseed and eco styler gels are waaaaaaaaaay better than those black gels which will dry out your hair more 1 Like |

lovelygurl:thanks I have been massaging my hair every morning and evening with either olive oil or coconut oil or I use both. My edges are growing gradually now afraid of fixing a weavon ,lol

Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by Nobody: 9:43pm On Aug 09, 2017 |
AgbenuAnna: Awww I'm so happy for you. I knew you wanted to grow it very bad You don't have to be scared of weavons lol, as long as you tell them to leave your edges alone, they'll be fine. This usually depends on your style though. Just don't let them apply to much pressure to it. It's very "fragile" 1 Like |

i recently dyed my hair with henna but it didnt give my hair colour, thinking of using chemical dye, hope there aint any sideeffect using chemical dyes on hair? |
Re: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by Nobody: 3:58pm On Aug 10, 2017 |
omotoyecable: I think henna comes in many colours, Im not sure though. Well you can dye your hair if you want to, but be aware it might dry out your hair and thin it out. I would advise you to deep condition regularly at least once a week. Also, moisturise your hair more often than before. |
