Residents of the popular Games Village Estate in Abuja have cried out over the blocking of their estate by Lebanese community in Abuja over development of a disputed land within the estate.

Secretary of the Games Village Residents Association, Jude Uze, confirmed the development to newsmen on Thursday.

His words: “Lebanese community said they have approval from the authorities to build a church inside the estate and we said no.”

“We don’t have Lebanese community in the estate, who are those that will be attending the church, we don’t know.

“This morning they just came in and they brought in a container claiming that development control have given them the authority to start work.

“They said they have been given the order that if they were not allowed access into the estate that they should block the access road to estate.

That’s the container you are seeing, blocking the estate.

“The fact that we can’t access our estate is a big affront. Can we do this in Lebanon? Can a Nigerian do this in Lebanon?

A security officer in the estate, Mohammed Bala said, “we don’t know what is in that container, we are afraid, they could be anything in that container. We have send our people to Police”.

In his reaction, leader of the Lebanese community, Albert Alwan confirmed that they acted “following instructions by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello and the development control.”

Alwan who led in the blockade of the estate explained that they were denied access to the estate and had to resort to blocking the access to the estate.

Why has no one visited the fcta and the ministers office for confirmation? Why are there no civil defence or mobile police officers on ground there scrutinizing the papers of the lebanese miscreants to determine their authenticity and maintain law and order? Or is games village just filled with cowardly nigerians who don't understand their rights over foreigners?

See Guts!!!.....this they would never tolorate in their own country and....wait did see where they said they are acting under the authority of the minister??....i give up is a pity.

Modified: infact this minister is the most incompetent fcta minister (with all due respect) since the inception of fcta. So insensitive owes area council workers for months, doesn't really care about his job profile and lots more. Its a pity once again.

this is outright nonsense, I don't think any Nigerian or Nigerians would say they want to hold a protest in Lebanon and block the entrance to an estate over there. since our corrupt leaders are selling our birthrights to this foreigners then what more can we expect? you see this guy's in every sector of our economy bidding for contracts and eventually being awarded against a Nigerian that can execute such works better. Naija leaders which way? is it until you guys ruin this country and turn it to CONGO DR or LIBERIA before una calm down? whereas you guys will elope to western countries with your family members and leave. haba.

Nigerians are perpetual slaves. . .

Slaves in and out of their Nation. . .

Imagine Lebanese in Nigeria also maltreating us in our own very eyes.

No coming in or going out of the estate till the Lebanese President intervenes since we don't have one.

There, indeed was a country.

bla bla bla

If they are permitted by the authorities why not let them build the church?

Why are you opposing building a church in an estate in the first place? is the estate a bleeping mosque? whats your business if people dont go to the church?

The Lebanese understood the only language the average Nigerian understands and they are speaking it!

Let me get this clearly : an expatriate/foreigner will insist on his right to build a church against the wishes of the citizens and the minister in charge concurs ?

Nigeria. How low have the mighty fallen.
