Curlieweed: You may pretend to be ignorant but I am not; anyone with basic knowledge would know that resources are generally categorised as human or material, which not all countries (putative or otherwise) all are well endowed with. |

cascarino:Ma, I respect the sagess! but our real problems beyond religion or constitution! our real problem is we refused to accept our self! look at America, the Negro,Spanish,Mexican, they were distinct in culture, in religious etc, but they accept their differences! And the imaginary line of Amalgamated of North and South fuel the disunity of the nation, it's a "grave erreur"! The solution to all this is simple: I've said it several time here! And is the only restructure that will be acceptable to all: Strike out look at the map here: 1 Like

ItsMeAboki: I expected you to make your definition of "human resources" clearer. However, to avoid misunderstanding me, I will elucidate. All countries have human resources, it's only the quality that may vary. The good news is that with very minor investments, focused actions can result in vast improvements in the said quality within very short time frames (Cuba wiped out illiteracy from the island within an impossibly short time). All resources merely represent potential. You can underperform or still over achieve for reasons other than and more crucial than the resources you started with. |

Curlieweed: Your expectation for a clearer definition is irrelevant and quite unnecessary; as far as I have made my point well understood. |

ibkgab001:Big excuse when obasanjo was made president why did he not move the senate to make changes, when jonathan was president why did he not make moves to change the constitution, choosing hand picked clowns in his so called constitutional conference is no amendment who where they representing?,who sent them there to talk for us?,please blame the senate who are representiting us,so we should blame ourselves for our own shortcomings,is it because of the Northerners that the south south states have not been able to build one refinery whether single handedly or collectively?it is always easy to blame someone else. |

ItsMeAboki: You know most of these people are actually instigated by politicians who actually benefit from the so called allocations, when was the last time allocation from FG entered accounts of individuals like you and I? The politicians make their problem ours because they know we are dvmb just like this woman, She does not understand the fundamentals of nationhood and that is exactly what the politicians want to achieve, the day Nigeria will be restructured, most of the neigh sayers will have no seat on that table except those politicians so what exactly is the point? Some politicians have proved that regardless of how much they get from the fG, they can still not meet their basic salary obligations. So all this noise is for what exactly? when it is time to fight on the streets, no politician will be there. Nigeria was divided equally North and South, the igbos feel they are smarter so they alienate themselves, the SS feel they have oil they alienate themselves while the SW is the only region in the south left, the SW to remain relevant has to align with the north, of course what option do they have? An alliance of SE,SS,SW and predominantly christian areas of the North central will give the North a serious run for their money, with this alliance, every part of the Nigerian constitution can be changed without firing a shot, do you expect loafers like Kanu and Anko Briggs to figure it out? These are mere local/regional champions, Kanu sees only SE igbo while this one sees just the SS, so what happens if you make trouble? the others will unite and crush you, at least common sense dictates that. National issues are approached strategically except the part where the black man lack the ability to reason. 4 Likes |

SycophanticGoat: Show me the court judgement No muslim is allowed to go scot free for killing a non-muslim under sharia Go and study elements of Sharia law before commenting! SycophanticGoat: You guys are always listening to one side of the story CAN once claimed Christians were killed in Zamfara and the Governor disputed it and CAN insisted When evidence was presented, CAN backed down by preaching instead of admitting that they often mislead people SycophanticGoat: What happened to countless people killed in the South without Badoo people have been on killing spree in Ikorodu and sometimes the culprits are rescued by the police and they return to the community again Tell me about the killers of ALUU 4 - were the killers Muslims and victims Christians Whenever there is an inconclusive case in the Nort, it is Muslims v Christians? But when such happens in the South, well....stuff happens SycophanticGoat:Hear it loud and clear, Islam allows divorce, it is Christianity that says a marriage is for ever I am not part of the people saying we must be together I don't care if every local government became a country I was created by Allah and my provisions will come from the sources appointed by Him if I work hard I don't need oil, gold, or whatever Infact I would prefer that all natural resource-rich areas be on one side and let them refuse to accommodate other parts of Nigeria Not having natural resources does not bother me in the least But remember every divorce is messy and there must be compromise No party will SOLELY determine all the terms |

ItsMeAboki:It is true that every nation redistributes income dderivedd from regions to other regions of the same nation but Nigeria's own is too much especially when we take cognizance of how different we are( let's not lie, we one day hope we we will be united like the Germans are but till then we are people with significant differences). In the USA which is less diverse than us, the states keep a far greater portion of their resources and even control their natural resources but here in Nigeria we have only 13 percent derivation for mineral resources and 0% for company income tax; I don't think that this formula fits our xteristics. However, my support for restructuring stems from my belief that given the states more economic control will enable us utilize and fulfill our potentials. Solid minerals in the hands of the states will be better exploited than by the FG; we have already seen the lack of the capacity of the FG to develop other minerals by their permission of states to look for investors in return for 13% derivation. Agriculture will also do better in the hands of the states if they have a greater control of the sector together with that of Corporate organisations; I promise you we will see great revoultion in that sector coupled with the agro-allied industries which they shall bring in. All the neglected sectors in this country like the entertainment, fashion, manufacturing industries will be maximally exploited by the states to improve their financial standings and then Nigeria would know that oil is nothing and we shall remember it's days with bitterness at how much we suppressed our potentials. |

jpphilips: So refreshing actually meeting someone who could think and see beyond the prism of tribalism, regional and religious bias. Couldn't agree with you more. Its a pity that most ppl jumping on the bandwagon for resource control and restructuring do not realise that no matter how the country is eventually carved up or restructured into; they would still be inheriting the same corrupt leaders who would continue to exploit them - nothing much would change for the common man. Nigerians should know that their common enemy is corruption and they need to wake up and start holding their leaders responsible and accountable to them. 1 Like |
