Lovelygurl thanks babe, I will follow your thread bum to bum till Jesus comes. cheesy

Ya I have come a long way, I can't quit. I will post pictures to show you my progress .

Lovelygurl I feel like romancing you right now muah muah muah kiss kiss kiss

So I should not comb it daily when I'm not on braids? cheesy. If I shouldn't how do I take care of it? I'm not rocking any hair do, please suggest hair style I will do this week (don't mention braids, I don tire) angry

If you want the romancing don't forget to mention, I can fly off my phone to give you some. Cos I'm happy. cheesy

Looooool funny girl grin

Sry for the late reply but I'm back.

Deep conditioning should make your haur feel soft for at least a week, during the week you take care of it by spraying water every morning and apply a leave in conditioner to then seal everything with an oil. That will be sth like a "refreshment" and then you just use your fingers to style. If necessary you can use that comb they use to style (sry no idea what it's called in English but that sharp comb they use to part the hair embarassed) to do any parting, while supporting it with your hands.

I can't really explain to you hoe to style your hair because a video is just the best way to go about that. Perhaps you should do it on stretched hair and yes you can use a wool to stretch your hair too. Some ideas are also on page 1

Awwwww

Where's the pic? 533 locs? Damn that definitely took long to finish. Has it "swollen" already?

Hey y'all. Here are some pics taken at my Loctician's place. Before and after.
First, she sectioned my hair. The lines and little squares are called the sisterlocks grid.

Please don't quote pics, I'll delete them soon, thanks. smiley

Yes, there are 533 of them. It took 17+ hours to finish. She counted each section as she did them and we also counted when she finished. Swollen ke? After two days? lol. I wish! I was told I should see a difference in the growth and thickness within 2 months. I'm taking biotin and silica to speed up growth as well as thicken them. They'll swell in size as they grow, so they will not remain the size they are now!

I've been reading/watching a lot about natural hair but I've not really watched a video that explained the reason why we have curly or tightly coily hair, the way this video did.

Really informative and easy to understand smiley

how my hair looks like after Washing with black soap. what do I do to my front hair for it to grow?

Using black soap alone might dry your hair but you can mix it with oils. Black soaps melt easily, so just put it into a bowl, pour a little amount of hot water for it to melt and them add any oil you wish to use. You can then pour it in a bottle and voila you have your shampoo.

I loooove black soap. It's really good for the skin too grin. Not you face though...too drying but I swear it will make your skin (body) smooth because it exfoilates, meaning gets rid of dead skin cells cheesy

I always spray my edges with water and then massage a little bit of oil while it's still damp. I do that every night before going to bed. You can try that out. My edges are full. You can use olive oil, castor oil or sunflower oil

the black soap you're using is drying out your hair, including your edges.

Any sulphate free shampoo will do. Just use it directly on your scalp cause that's what shampoo is for, to cleanse the scalp. Then the lather from the shampoo should cleanse your hair, that way your hair won't dry out. Before washing your hair, prepoo with coconut oil, it makes the hair really soft.

For your edges, don't manipulate it too much. Castor oil is great to regrow your edges. Some people even add peppermint oil for faster result.

Remove the shea butter from the list. It's only a sealant and will never penetrate your hair shaft. It might be blocking the hair follicles. It's supposed to be put on the hair not scalp.

And make sure the coconut oil and olive oil are VIRGIN. Virgin coconut and olive oil are cold pressed. They still have all those vitamins and stuff but if it's not. All the good stuffs will be gone because of the heat applied, while the oil is pressed from the olives and coconuts

All gels make your hair dry and maybe stiff, so it should not be used every time especially on your edges.

Dry hair always leads to breakage. Some gels are worse than the other, aloe vera, flaxseed and eco styler gels are waaaaaaaaaay better than those black gels which will dry out your hair more

Awww I'm so happy for you. I knew you wanted to grow it very bad cheesy cheesy

You don't have to be scared of weavons lol, as long as you tell them to leave your edges alone, they'll be fine. This usually depends on your style though. Just don't let them apply to much pressure to it. It's very "fragile"

I think henna comes in many colours, Im not sure though.
Well you can dye your hair if you want to, but be aware it might dry out your hair and thin it out. I would advise you to deep condition regularly at least once a week. Also, moisturise your hair more often than before.
