This is a very honest position concerning this issue. Ndigbo competitive spirit in business is unparalleled to the extent that outsiders fear to invest in Igboland. When Dangote was making massive investments in cement across the country, he carefully avoided the east because Ibeto was there already. Before Dangote thought of refinery in Lagos, Orient Petroleum was already building one in Anambra even though the project is abandoned because of several logistics and communal challenges. He could not compete with his petroleum products retail outlets MRS when the likes of Dozzy Oil, A-Z Petroleum, Tonimas, Capital Oil, Major Oil, Techno Oil, SPG Petroleum etc are on the ground.
Is it his Sino Truck Assembly Plant he would have gone to establish in the east when Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company is there and Peace Motors has joined.
Dangote has been in commodities trading just like the Igbos until he decided to go into backward integration and start producing those things here. He is into farming which he cannot do in the east for want of land. According to the northern youths who are at dagger drawn with Dangote, because he considers them idle for issuing quit notice to the Igbos, Dangote has failed to invest in the north to provide jobs for them. 70% of his investment is in the south and only 30% is in the north.
Dangote just like every businessman considers investment variables such as proximity to ports and raw materials, market, infrastructure, competition, ease of doing business etc before he will put down his money. After all these same factors is what has caused the Igbos to invest in the west and other places more than the east. Like we all know, there is no sentiment in business. It's all about cash.

That is not the true reason

Every Hausa Fulani man knows that one day the Igbos will be free. Therefore they harbor the fear of losing their properties once the Igbos are free.

Now ask yourself the following questions

1) If the East is so competitive for Dangote, why then does his products get sold in the East

2) why is that other Hausa Fulani people don't invest in the East despite doing business there.?

EVEN RICH IGBOS ARE RATHER DEVELOPING OTHER PARTS OF NIGERIA & THE WORLD.

I BET YOU THEY WON'T STILL DEVELOP THEIR IGBO LAND IN THE FUTURE FOR THE FEARS OF

A. KIDNAPPING

B. SECESSION

C. PIRACY & FAKING

D. ONE OF THE ABOVE

E. ALL OF THE ABOVE

These reasons you gave are the most senseless I have come across

Dredge River Niger and see if the Igbos won't abandon Lagos port to establish their businesses closer home

It took 50 years before an international airport could be established in the East under Jonathan

These are reasons we insist on leaving Nigeria

Mention a southerner apart from the igbos who has a landed property in the whole of Eastern states. You guys wld come to Lagos, Kano, Ibadan, ilorin and establish business without anyone threatening you, and be boasting of helping the indigines to develop their their states.
South eastern states are not being developed because the igbos have made it so. Embrace fellows from other regions, and i can bet it that your region will witness an unprecedented growth in all sectors.
