Algerian Navy have 4 kilo 636 in service now + one delivry 2017 and one 2018

pics 29 june 2017

Interesting that they don't hide the propellers. I guess they feel such info is already public.

I stopped following that handle a year ago. He totally wrecked it, and basically turned it to where he goes to drop daily rants about every day things.

When he could have stayed on and monitised the blog, he choose to throw that away, and instead rant on twitter.

I added it because all we have seen is the purchase of a hand-full and that is weird when we have seen other vehicles being imported for the role.

And no, it's not clear that they have bought very many.

When Government agencies do this sort of thing, you should get suspicious.

That's pretty clear and not insulting or provocative

Nok234:

First look I thought it was Streit Group Spartan APC, but look closely the vehicle on the right is not the same as the one in the middle who can identify the vehicle on the right

jakeporeshenko:

Okay let's try this again, how many vehicles do you count in this photo?

But it was reported that 177 units were ordered.
read the full article here .. http://www.africanmilitaryblog.com/2017/06/nigerian-army-receives-first-batch-of-177-streit-armored-vehicle.html

The Nigerian Military just took delivery of the first batch of assorted armored vehicles. The new delivery was reported on Twitter by current Managing Director of the Nigerian Port Authority Mrs Hadiza Bala Usman. According to Mrs Bala she tweeted that the armored vehicles were part of a large order of about one hundred and seventy seven (177) vehicles with different configurations which 40 has been delivered while the rest will arrive from Jordan before December.

She also said on Twitter that the armored vehicles were Mine protected which indicate that some Mine Resistant and Ambush Protected (MRAP) were among the mix delivered. Although no information concerning the purchase was ever released by the Nigerian Government or the Military but this is not surprising since the Nigerian Government or the military rarely provide information on its acquisition plans.

Under a great secrecy they are changed when they head out for ops or to sea.

They usually switch out the screws at a later date.

Pretty hard to keep a 4 tonne propeller a secret when you have 300 people working in a giant factory.

It will be just before sea trials or post delivery

If you look at the links chkil provided you can see the Americans still try keep it a secret by having the blades covered. Russians just take the simple option.

In the future submarines will no longer have propellers, China is in the lead:

http://www.popsci.com/china-new-submarine-engine-revolutionize-underwater-warfare

They are also developing a warship/submarine/drone/catamaran ship the can stay submerged, fire over 500 missiles,... something along the lines of the US arsenal warship concept.
