So I saw this thread today https://www.nairaland.com/3895714/naval-officers-beat-corper-ondo/1#58062653 and I decided to create a thread for this barbaric and inhumane acts by our so called ''military''. When ordinary recruits, and privates dey flex muscles, what will happen with commissioned officers . So that means I can go to command secondary school Ipaja now and their students can start flexing muscles for me ?

For the first time in my life on friday, I was humiliated by some boys who could easily pass as my siblings. I traveled all the way from lagos to kwara state for some business of mine. Around that challenge area in front of UBA bank, some so called ''tiny'' soldiers were passing by pushing pedestrians down to ''clear'' road for them. Out of anger, I grabbed one of them and corrected him that he was wrong to just shove people away like that. Before I knew it, he turned to me and flagged his colleague. He knew he was no match for me on a norms so he called for backup. Na so argument start. Before I could say jack, slaps started landing on my head from every angle. I wanted to fight back but I was restrained by onlookers telling me to just keep my cool and calm down. Not knowing they weren't done there, even more soldiers started crossing from the other end of the road to where I was and that was when I knew it was going to be a very long evening for me. As I saw that I was totally outnumbered, I immediately jumped on a moving bike without even telling the bike man where I was going (remain small make I fall the bike man down sef). I just tell am make he dey drive dey go say when I don reach where I go stop I go tell am. Lucky for me he saw all that happened so he maneuvered his way through some corners with perfection. After some 5 minutes ride and seemed I was already out of sight I outed from the bike and payed the guy as I went my way.

I was pained by just two things

1. They were just army privates who obviously joined some few months back just to escape poverty and ease their suffering. I'm very sure they haven't even used up to a year in service. They give them free accommodation, free medicals so why won't a regular thug consider joining the military ?
2. They were very young. The oldest of them wouldn't even pass for a 23 year old. My siblings are way older than those rats.

Only in Nigeria will a military man/boy cut out decorum and want to use the ATM first coz he's on a bloody camo
Only in Nigeria will a military man/boy flaunt his muscles against a civilian (even when he has non) coz he's on a bloody camo

These days civilians sef dey stand up to their rights and beat these national thugs anyhow and I've joined that clique henceforth. Make any of them just mistakenly enter my zone where my boys dey. In civilized countries, you don't even see soldiers anyhow on the streets. They are always in the barracks but what do you expect in a country where thugs, ex bandits , criminals who don't even know the meaning of education are recruited into the military because they wanted to earn some peanuts just to ease their suffering.
Nigeria has a long way to go

At Abuja nyanya in d nite after some drinks I boarded a bike ,then one of d boot rag blowing awool came wearing camour trouser, asked me to highlight...I said y sir,he used his belt to hit my head hard twice immediately...d hook on that army belt really made me mad,i lost it and fought back,he wasn't even strong as I expected ...He said if he doesn't wound me today and give me a mark no b him...I was more confident after some landed blows on his jaws since it's now a fair fight...Later people gathered and it settled. The man was embarrassed with swollen eyes n jaws...My Guys at the bar put me on a bike and asked me to go bfr he reinforced then bullied d Soja away...

Op, u are d reason why we say afonja is a pure coward. I have confronted uniformed men a lot of times - police and army especially. And come out unscathed. They even come and later and ask me for my mobile number. Been friends with many of them after the confrontations.

that's a big shame. It's just so laughable. U don't have to fear the army, they are part of u. No human being is born an army man. We are all born civilians. It's when we grow and start looking for work that some people join the army. As a simple work like others that become teachers, engineers, doctors etc. It's just a simple work.
It's from our taxes that they are maintained and paid.
So why for God's sake should you fear them? They breathe the same air as you.

you dey mind the mumu? Na for naija small girl sef go dey threaten to deal with you coz hin boyfriend na soldier..

I be yoruba man but I go talk true many of us ar just cowards (though not all) na only mouth we get and thats why the great fela kuti tried to give us voice but we refused to accept. Many of these so called soldiers you fit handle them one on one but na their ability to easily re enforce dey always ginger them. The one I experienced on friday, I could have beaten up those guys without stress but I was outnumbered 7-1 so I had to jump on a bike and leave the scene immediately. Look at that video too, more than 5 naval students on top one youth corper. If it was a one on one combat, that corper boy would have beaten them to pulp. Wetin be the difference between them and cultist? cultist go gather like 10 go ambush just 1 nigga for him house beat am and at the end dem go they carry their heads high say dem don finish am. If they know say dem stubborn why dem no carry only one or two members go.

Until we stop saying things like if soldier slap you, your face go swell or if soldier beat you, you go land for hospital, I don't think we can get it right in this country concerning these military oppression. The more you hype them, the more they feel superior.

lol this kind thread go swet die.. whre dm mods lalasticlala mynd44 oga seun. Mine was when i was posted to the north to go and serve a country they call my father's land. I was posted to sokoto state and along the journey we encountered an army check point. Naso my guy mistakenly throway dirty for floor. the can of malt we've been drinking. Naso one of the soldiers as ''who throw tha nonsense for floor''? nobody talk. Naso the boy vex order all of us mak we come down. After some ranting and barking. I decided to take my guy's place by telling them I was the one who did it coz this my guy was very ill but he had to be in camp the next day. That was how they started raining insults on me calling me names. before i knew it they descended on me kicking me, throwing blows and punches and hitting me with the butts of their guns. My crime was that I didn't confess on time. One hot babe that even tried pleading on my behalf chop slap she jejely waka go back of bus so embarassed. Nobody could talk everybody just dey look. After delaying us for like 2 hrs plus telling m to lie down faceup my head pointing towards the sun dem later release us. I went to camp with a dislocated wrist I tore a cloth to hold back in place and so many bruises and swolen face people thought I had an accident on my way coming.

Nigeria has one of the worst human right abuses in the world. If people can stand up to their rights I think all these things will reduce a bit. Assuming my fellow passngers backed me up and supported me that day I would have been more gingered to fight back but everybody just dy look like mumu. We were so helpless.

Moral Lesson"no think say ppl dey lie when them talk say soldier slap dey deaf person"

Summary..... police cases always favours the highest bidder..

I have been favoured though by them.

I hit someones car badly, he came out and was screaming head heels.. i tried to calm him down while we should discuss like gentle men, he refused.

We eventually called the police, after much accusations and counter accusations. The police called me to one side, said "oga how much do you have".. we agreed on an amount and the case changed on how his tail light was broken and he stomping on brakes without considering who was behind... i won eventually i guess..

I felt guilty and awful all through, had to call him after the police had left and offered to fix his car, we are very good friends today and hang out when its convenient...

On the other hand...

Someone duped me of my money..

For every tranch of recovery police took 40%... had to let go of a considerable amount because the money i was investing to recover my own money was not worth it... called the guy whom duped me, told him i forgive him and he should change his ways rather than ruin a relationship whom someone could trust you with a tangible amount of money..
