Mama I dey here o... if you want a true answer to Baltimore, my answer is don't come. It is too small, too dirty, too boring and too expensive, unless you getting a graduate degree in Health Sciences I know Llamas that will get an assistantship before you at JHU, UMB is not much better, The Nigerian presence in the Baltimore area can be a positive or negative, I am still undecided, most affluent Nigerians live in the 'burbs anyway the one you'll see in the city work at 7-Eleven, lest I forget the rent will chase you out of town( I used to average $1100 a month in rent and utilities). I have not minced words for you @the guy that wants to go to Baltimore and although my answers are colored by my experiences I have tried to incorporate the experience of others too.

Happy Sunday everyone.please I want to ask the gurus in Trumpland how easy does it come for a naija guy to make male America citizen friend(white) to female.please share ur experience.

This is a funny question, it's quite easy but somehow this question does not sit pretty with me, it seems to come out of a place of deep insecurity.
The answer is just mind your business, be yourself, smile and bring your drinking A-game you are in college after all, you'll make friends of every shade white, blue, yellow, green but pls represent us well don't be a 'Nigerian' supplicant begging for a white friend.

Congrats!

ElDeeVee:
I was at Lagos Consulate this morning. I was slated time was 6:30am so, I had to leave home very early. I got to the Consulate around 5:45am.
Security checks lasted like forever but alas, I got into the interview hall.
Initially, white papers were flying left, right and center but, this changed later as blue papers were also coming out.
My interview was quite short and the VO (in his late 40’s) was pleasant and nice.

Transcript below;
VO: Hello, good morning
Me: Good morning Sir

VO: Pass me your passport, I-20 and SEVIS payment confirmation page
Me: **Passed it**

VO: What are you going to study in the US?
Me: I am going for MS study in Math

VO: Why did you choose this particular school over others?
Me: I am going to the school for 3 major reasons. First, the school offered me a full GTA with tuition waiver and monthly stipends. (*** VO cuts in)

VO: How did you get the assistantship?
Me: The members of the committee in charge of selection for assistantship were quite impressed with my profile and previous academic and professional achievement.

VO: Which other schools did you apply to?
Me: 3 other schools – UNI, BGSU and UL Lafayette (Stated all in full with their respective cities and states)

VO: Tell me about the MS program.
Me: The MS program is a flexible program that focuses on key math areas like Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Applied Math and Operations Research.

**VO typed for some seconds and then gave me the white paper.
**Me smiled and left the hall immediately.

I appreciate everyone on this thread for their wonderful tips. Special shout out to @tolutweety, @profojah1234, @texrem @oludare01, @jesusbabygirl, @libber, @toakins, @folsy, @femi321, @happyday, and everyone who has contributed to this great thread.

Tips
1. If you have funding, state it as one of your reasons for going to the school. I feel this worked for me;
2. Be bold and confident. This cannot be overemphasized;
3. Prepare, prepare and prepare - know your stuff (your course, your program structure etc);
4. Please don’t cram. Just go there and chat with the VO. The interview is nothing out of the ordinary.

Good luck, people and see you at the top.

Tips:
1. You need to carry the V.O along with your response, 'During your internship with who? Try to name the organization bro and be detailed a bit.

2.According to my little experience o, I think the V.O z not gonna have time to listen to all that(From I chat with their current student and so on) and it might affect the message you are trying to pass to him.

Try as much as possible to make your response unique and simple..

Do your homework very well bro and go through other Transcripts very well..

#TrumpLand is Calling you grin

I'm still waiting for my I-20 tho, so am not an expert, just my 1cent..

tanks for the respond I will work towards it

Why not aim for better schools.... after an MBA in those two schools what can u do with it. They are barely accrediated or good or even manageable programs in the MBA world

Everyone has different experiences based on lots of factors.
The city might not be that great generally in terms of safety and other stuffs, but there are some very good neighborhoods in the county. Anyone schooling in Baltimore should be able to live in most places in the DMV area (excluding North East DC) provided they have a car/can hop on a train or bus. That gives many more options in terms of rent, closeness to Nigerian/black population.

Good morning All. I'm currently reviewing my DS-160 form in preparation for submission and there's a question which asks if your U.S Visa has ever been cancelled or revoked? Now, after I renewed, one of my previous B1/B2 visas was stamped with "cancelled without prejudice" upon its expiration and subsequent renewal. So which is the appropriate answer to the question now, do I answer no cancellation or yes cancelled without prejudice and explain in the box provided?
Thanks

Google "cancelled without prejudice"..It's standard procedure. You answer should be 'No' based on this.

Your Sister got a wrong form. Tell her that she should get the form for bill payment. All she needs to fill apart from her own details is the account name which is 'SEVISFEE' , amount - $200 and the account no which is stated on your coupon.
