abbey621:and you're liking America to Nigeria, a place of naturalised oddity! In Nigeria private individuals or firms do not make the rules. The body in charge of ports in Nigeria is the one and only Nigeria port authority (NPA) not even state government can meddle in this. Everything, from airport, to seaport and railway system is Government exclusively. Not in America where Government lias with private institutions in research and partnership. The only times Government here are prepared to collaborate with private institutions is in double taxation of the citizens. I believe the systematic neglect of other ports in the country is a deliberate move borne out of propaganda and fear of the unknown. |

Fearlez: You are still making the same mistake, thinking business men are not active godfathers and players in government! There's no systematic marginalization anywhere, if such a thing happened then GEJ should be considered a betrayal, all the senators and house of Rep members from the South South and the South East are traitors. Why are we so afraid of the truth in this country? It is easy to play the victim card but it only takes a look inward to realize we have all been SCAMMED! The Seaports favors all Nigerians so what sense is there to close them just to spite a group of people? This is nothing but the work of WICKED and CLUELESS governments! We have had Yoruba, Hausa and Ijaw as presidents and none of them fixed it so excuse me if I don't see the marginalization here! 2 Likes |

jstbeinhonest:Lagos state earn revenues in seaports situated in her land in royalties, duties and indirect taxes Even the Lekki Deal sea port that's undergoing, Lagos has 18% stake while the federal government represented by NPA has about 50%. laudate: No one was stalking you; I happened upon the thread and saw that you were up to your usual antics. The only reason I didn't say anything then was because it was a thread about Yoruba people and so had nothing to do with me. Unlike you, I try to not get involved in other people's business. Your hatred towards Ndigbo is legendary; it's even gotten to the point where almost every Igbo poster that's been on here for longer than a month knows that you are an Igbo hater. It's nice that you feel that me giving you a bit of attention is making you feel important- I guess I have that affect on some people. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Nonaira1:Do u know amount custom generate from lagos port, despite the low price of crude oi in international market, the govt was able to get meaning money from IGR, Also federal goverment starved Lagos state government of money during obasanjo era because fight between obj and tinubu, guess what lagos was able to pay salary and executive elephant project. So I don't know why you guys are talking as if you've forgotten history. Well I don't blame u because u don't have anything upstairs 1 Like |

abbey621:If you hold GEJ responsible for not fixing the mess after staying in power for 5 years, are you exempting those whowho let the other seaports rot for decades? Now that's hypocrisy and double standard! The use of one seaport in Nigeria is a fallout of a flawed federal system which has become centralised. And it's a deliberate act. Nigeria loses billions daily for using one sea port. Is it not shameful that cars are cheaper in midget African countries with just 12 milion people? When Nigeria with nearly 200 Millon rely on countries like Benin and Togo for cheaper product? 1 Like |

Ngozi123:Stop accusing everyone of hate. We are not all like you and your IPOB crew, that thrive on a diet of insults and bile. And if you did not think I was important, you wouldn't have been monitoring my posts all over NL, and calling my name at the slightest opportunity. Drop the pretence. And kindly stop generalising. List the names of the Igbo posters that have been here for longer than a month who know that 'Laudate' is an Igbo hater to use your own words. It is all part of the propaganda being flung around by your IPOB crew, in order to score cheap points. By the way, what is the proportion of your so-called Igbo posters, out of the entire Igbo population on NL? 10%, 20% or 50%? Did you conduct a census to arrive at this observation? Finally madam, I am not your crush TimeMod1. Do you get a high from stalking me? Talk quick, make we know how to treat yah case! 5 Likes |

deomelo: EXACTLY, HAVE THEY ALL FORGOTTEN THAT WESTERN NIGERIA WAS THE FASTEST GROWING REGION IN AFRICA AT INDEPENDENCE? ALSO,I OBSERVE THAT THEIR CORRUPT LEADERS ALSO ENCOURAGE THEM TO BLAME THEIR UNDERDEVELOPMENT ON LAGOS TO DISTRACT THEM FROM: 1.HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE 13% DERIVATIVES. 2.NDDC PROJECTS ACCOUNTS. 3.MINISTRY OF NIGER DELTA PROJECTS ACCOUNT. 4.WHY ASARI DOKUBO DECIDED NOT TO BUILD HIS UNIVERSITY ON IJAW SOILS. I have never seen one ijaw man doing all the above.well, one of my ijaw friends just told me that if the federal government grant them full control of the oil that they will start killing themselves.I personally believe the fight will start between nnamdi kanu, asari dokubo and tompolo. 2 Likes |

Fearlez: Did you even read my last post? Did you see where I wrote "We have had Yoruba, Hausa and Ijaw as presidents and none of them fixed it", so I don't understand your statement about double standard. You are just making my point for me, even if all past presidents failed, an Ijaw man should have succeeded since the issue hits so close to home. This is why I'll repeat my stance that this is not about marginalization but bad governance, plain and simple! 2 Likes |
