Inasmuch as FG contributed in the sorry state of East but we Igbos killed East completely.

The number problem with East is braindrain.
Nigeria government started it but we finished the Job. The say we start making bold moves by relocating to East gradually we will start attracting the respect of other Nigerians.

Everything boils down to good planning.
Chime has already demonstrated that even the poorest revenue allocated state like Enugu, can plan well and still perform better than the highest revenue allocated states.

Enugu can continue to develop as well as Nsukka. They should start with major roads in Nsukka. You don't have to do everything immediately, but use good quality contractors such as Arab contractors to ensure every project completed is of the highest world class quality.

Ugwuanyi in his inaugural speech spoke about developing Emene - 9th mile area as Enugu's free trade and industrial zone. Of course he can lay the ground work for this by planning the area to the highest international standard. Demarcating areas for new residential estates, industrial zone and recreational parks within this huge expanse of land. Then begin to attract industrialists to buy plots in the industrial zone and property developers as Spyder to develop new housing estates in the residential part.
Once people know the whole place is planned like Obodo oyibo standard and government opens up the first feeder roads and electricity lines even if the roads are not tarred, those industrialists and property developers will come. Especially in this day and age when Igbos are looking for great industrial layouts to relocate or set up a new investment in the east.

So, the first step is to make a solid modern plan and then follow the plan a little each year based on availability of funds. In the picture below, several areas were earmarked for "future development". Which means, the government can acquire the area and then develop small portions of it in phases.

The eastern region was known for palm produce in the 1960s and
70s, what is happening now? currently red oil is very expensive
demands cannot be met Why do we have to export palm produce?
when we can process it into finished goods like creams soaps gels
etc. why cant we have large farms in each senatorial districts that

Lets cease from posting those random pictures. Its a distraction
from the main thing we need in the state- POWER.
What we need now is electric power for industrial revolution.
Let that be the only thing we ll discuss in this forum/thread until

FG alone does not reserve the right to power plant construction,
because Dangote is constructing one in Lagos and one in Kogi,
and these are private power plants that will power his private
company and booste the economy of these states.

Air France can combine their Douala flights to include Enugu, the way they do all over Africa.

Enugu must closely learn how Anambra is getting private investors in Agriculture and repeat the same process in Enugu focussing on crops where the state has immense advantage such as maize, rice, cassava, cashews, pineapples and oil palm plantations.

Yea bro it's a large market but to show how weak our governor is he appointed a woman as the head of the market ( I have no issue with her being a woman) she never campaign like others nothing and dew to miss understanding and court case with the contestants the elected her as the head without the peoples consent,not up to six month in the office she double every dues in the market, nepa from 500 to 1000 security from 200 to 400 etc just last week some people that came out to protest against it she use cultists to injure them, call any unbiased person in the market to confirm this, this and more administrative lapes makes me week .

He wanted to transmit to Aba but Abuja said NO; So why do you think Enugu case will be different?? Do you know that Rivers state also had same problem, the power plant the built is now transmitting to Oshogbo for sharing

point 5 is impossible, best bet is to do it Ogun way, i.e. if the gas pipeline is extended to Enugu, instead of using it to power a power plant and having FG force you to transmit to national grid, the gas can be sold directly to the industries to power their generators at very cheap price. People have advised Nestoil to do this, instead of wasting money on a power plant that will go the Geometric way.
As for investment in agriculture, you need to visit Adani, Enugu was declared a Staple Crop Processing Zone (in conjunction with Anambra state, but a larger percentage by far is in Enugu) because of agricultural exploits in Adani, this is the only SCPZ in the south East

The Enugu State Government has expressed optimism that the N24 billion Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target for fiscal 2017 will be achieved.

Mrs Adaonah Kene-Uyanwune, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Revenue and Financial Matters, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Enugu.

Kene-Uyanwune said that the government was happy that its revenue generation had been progressive, attributing the development to the administrative ingenuity of the state governor.

She said that within the first half of the year, the state’s IGR stood at over N11 billion, compared to N7.2 billion for the same period in 2016.

“A few months back, the State Executive Council approved the automation of the state revenue board.

“This provided for an in-built data synchronizing with payment into the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and ensuring that all government revenues are harnessed and integrated from ministry to ministry into one account.

“It is a laudable achievement of the government. We are almost at the end of the first half of the year and have done over N11 billion.

“Given what we have now, we are very positive that we will end the year between N22 billion and N24 billion,” she said.

Kene-Uyanwune applauded the state governor, whom she said, had not left anything undone to ensure that the state Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) met its target.

“The governor has not left anything undone to ensure that these revenues are met.

“There are back duty investigations that have yielded a lot of fruits in terms of revenue growth this year.

“The tax to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rate in Nigeria is about six per cent.

“It means that Nigerians are not tax compliant but in Enugu, the governor knows what it means to get the people comply.”

The special adviser said that the governor had kept to his four-point agenda with infrastructural development paramount, adding that when the people are happy with your work, they pay taxes.

“The infrastructural development in the state is attributable to the sum total of the individual capacities of residents of the state who are tax compliant.

Kene-Uyanwune said that the state assembly had also given procedural support in ensuring that all amendments to the revenue laws were approved to back the board.

She said that the state government understood that proper framework must be put in place to achieve optimum collection of government taxes and levies.

“We are not purely dependent on Federal Allocations anymore as IGR is contributing well over 50 per cent of the state revenue.

Kene-Uyanwune said that the state government had put in place measures to bring tax men closer to the people, adding that efforts were also ongoing to introduce end-user taxation and increasing the tax base.

She, however, said that the tax regime was not without its challenges as some prospective taxpayers were recalcitrant. (NAN)

What kind of deal does he have with FG?
Cant Enugu state go same way?
Will Dangote share his power with any state? Even if Dangote connects to national grid, what his powerplant has generated would be distributed back to him and any excess would SOLD to DISCOs.
