I swear you are very right. Most of these advanced countries earn a lot from tax but in Nigeria, you only get bothered about tax clearance when you are involved in one formal application where tax certificate is required. Anything short of that, you can spend the whole of your life I'm Nigeria without paying a dime in the name of tax, yet we want to be better than US Canada France Germany combined.

Government leaders should declare their assets.

They should show evidence of taxes they have paid in the last 10yrs.

They should show evidence that they and their family members patronise Nigerian health and educational institutions.

My company is tax compliant.

Furthermore, I am tax compliant.

When the above requests are fulfilled, I will provide evidence should you need any.

Do you ask how much our Police force and other security agents make each day on roadblock?

Do you know how much Nigerians pay on electricity bill each month for service they do not enjoyed?

Do you care to know how much of our oil is lifted and proceeds paid into leader's account?

Do you know how much Nigerians pay in telecom services as a top up for the leaders?

Do you know that some of our leaders make free calls paid for by the rest of us Nigerians?

I pay 5,000 Naira monthly for street security and pay 25,000 monthly for my personal home security.

I spend almost 100,000 Naira monthly running my generator.

I also spend so much monthly fixing my vehicles as a result of bad roads.

And I should be patriotic and pay taxes to a government that hasn't told me what it has done with 20 trillion in the last 2 years.

Please abeg! Don't piss me off already.
