•Do u believ you can actually pay a bribe prize for as low as 7naira?
•should marriage be based on your affordability?
•Has the cost of marriage reduced the ability for men to get married on time?
•Do people get scared away from marriage due to it cost or something else?
•Then my question is if you spend all your money to put a better marriage maybe to give it your taste what will be your reaction after the marriage and you have nothing tangible left?

....One of my her bride prize was actually 7naira and I mean real 7naira and she's an igbo, but the list was hell, like you can imagine a list comprising of 42 tuber's of yam,and also I experienced another one similar to that from a yuroba land, though I don't know about the cost of bride prize but her's what 45tuber's of yam, what can we say about the cost of marriage friends

Is food that expensive in Nigeria that men hopping to get married can not even afford to save through the years enough to buy 47 tubbers of yam? Dont you know that you have to save through the years towards your wedding just like you save towards buying or building things? Do some guys just wake up and decide to marry? I dont get it.

Ours is N24.60 kobo even till now.
But some families maintain the culture while some don’t.

Perhaps, other food items and others are still normal. You wont spend massively.

Mbanu, I will get married when money is not ready.
You save towards project in life. If you know you would get married someday, then start saving towards it when you start earning a living. You date a for years and you did not think to save towards your wedding knowing that in Nigeria you can not avoid traditional wedding no matter how you try? If you are blessed with a high earning job then you can say you would gather money for the wedding in a short period of time but for those who can not earn big pay at once to foot the wedding bills then they should plan to save poco a poco for their wedding. Many women would understand with you if you are commited to the relationship and decide to cut expenses because you plan to officially seek her hand in marriage sometime soon. Me I dont understand it sha. I expect people to save towards wedding as they save towards buying a car or a home. Weddings do cost money for sure.
