You don't need to bribe anybody. Go to a branch and request to speak with the manager, they have to say what you will understand. You need PTA not BTA. The B stands for Business and P - Personal.

If you have accounts in other banks, it wont hurt to ask them how the process works there. Then apply where you want.

ProfOjah1234:
Hello guys..
How can one go about getting PTA/BTA.. My bank told me they aren't giving that yet, until.... The lady was just saying what I don't understand..

Make una help me abeg!.. Thanks

NOTICE TO STUDENT VISA HOLDERS:
As at last night, @ Georgia Atlanta, a student visa holder (a Nigerian and cousin to my friend's friend) was turned back home after his visa was cancelled. The reason is that he did not leave Nigeria at the date stated on his I-20 that he should resume. He had waited more more months; that is, he should have left few months back. So when he got to the port of entry, he was sent back.

I am not saying this to put fear in anybody here, but pay attention and make sure you get your ticket in time. You have your visa already, and so you have no business waiting in Nigeria --EXCEPT your school resumption date is still more than 30 days. Please be warned! I wish all of you safe journey.

I advice all of you to leave latest 5 days before your school resumption, and make sure it is less than a month before your resumption. If you come in when it is still more than a month before your resumption date, forget it, you will be sent back live and you will need to buy another ticket. Be warned! And more importantly, AVOID LAX--Los Angelis International Airport, except you are going to that area. People are having issue with immigration at this port of entry! This information is coming directly from Texas, US.
Emmanuel.

What is happening at LAX? And is it specifically Nigerian students that are having the problem or everyone in general?

If I was his brother and the Official Inspecting him. I will not only revoke his visa, he would surely get a 10 year ban as well for not being able to use his brain.

Forget all those crap. They said worse when I was coming through Chicago. Mind you my final destination was somewhere else. I wasn't even asked any question aside my documents. My bags were not even checked despite the fact that I had loads of foods inside.

.

A student who is truly prepared should know the rules... you can enter within 30days and not later than the start date on your i20

If instead he travelled months after his i20 start date ... then is that a student

It is possible financial circumstances changed and he had to change session or resumption date but proper research would have told him to get a new i20 ....

Thanks for sharing. Hopefully someone learns a thing or two to avoid

Did you go through the guy transcript? He answered his questions right. And even if he makes little mistakes it's not enough to be denied that easily with such a good profile.

Hearsay and what actually happened during an interview can be two things. A transcript doesnt tell the full story .

Also only a Vo knows exactly what they are looking for..... leave them to decide what is enough or not enough

Good morning my good people. Please I need an urgent help from anyone who recently filled the Ds160. I have completed the form but only work history was asked. No information for education or training. So I don't know if it's the new style. I don't want to submit and later encounter problem at the embassy. Please help!!![/quote]

In my Opinion, i think DS160 is of 2 types with different version.. one is more detailed with information, while the other is just normal information but not as detailed as the other. I noticed that while i was filling mine. And also my friend sent me a copy of her DS 160 after her visa has been approved, i compared her's with mine and i noticed mine has more detailed info.. while her's was just basic information. So in line with your question, you are good to go.. submit and go get your visa.. Shalom!

There's nothing spectacular about this. Both of them broke the immigration law. Period!

That is why you need to pay attention to the rules and regulations. They probably thought you were still in Nigeria where anything goes.

The last I checked, the African American lady isn't in Abuja embassy no more.. or well, she wasn't present the day I went for my students visa interview.. I saw her last year during my B1B2 visa interview...

So she's that notorious everyone has to be on the look out for her? I guess because she's black she thinks she knows us all. Guys, you have the right to reject a VO before interview.

LONG POST ALERT: MY VISA TRANSCRIPT
SEASON 1: The first time I visited this thread I was overwhelmed with the information overload in fact I didn't know where to start but soon decided to download the app and talk to someone to help with Mock interview as my interview was for Wednesday, July 5.

By Sunday morning July 2nd, I was hit with terrible malaria that I couldn't talk or move but by Tuesday it was better leaving me with big sores on my mouth.
Naso I found my way to Lasgidi and I called Walspring who pointedly told me I don't need a mock it's nit necessary and that he doesn't even help people with that, I said thank you jejely and moved on to Lagosismyhome, the madam just tell me say I dey do last minute rush say she no get my time and she was truly busy but not relenting Mr John sent me Texrem number and I called him.

Fiam! I knew I hit my jackpot immediately we spoke because he gave me on the spot interview and we began the journey. I called him about six different times, he would correct and I will re-practice over again, don't forget he stays abroad it was international call so I was blowing money in fact I had to just load call credit from my bank account. Till 4am, we were on it, sometimes he would deny me visa due to my performance and at times he would give me but all these sharpened me.

SEASON TWO: I left for the embassy and the powers that be ensured I lost my way after 3rd mainland bridge, uhmmm even Google Map no gree help, network run Comot and I had to be asking for directions for a road I know so well, cut it short it took me one hour to get to Walter Carrington. The official told me I was late angrily but I apologized and he later left me, it was raining and the tension was making me go to the rest room every ten minutes. I eventually did the normal routine check and finally entered for interview proper.

SEASON THREE: I was directed to the bulky Asian man at WINDOW 1. (The guy face strong no even smile atall)

VO: GOOD MORNING
ME: Good morning sir

VO: Pass me your passport. (I gave him). Why are you going to the US?
ME: I will be travelling to pursue my masters degree in Communication studies at Tarleton State University, Texas.

VO: Give me your I-20? (I gave him)

VO: Why did you choose the school?
ME: Asides from the fact that I will be recieving as a plus to my degree, a dual certificate in Organizational comm and Computer Mediated Communications, the program infuses a blend of modern and traditional methods of comm. (cuts me short).

VO: A lot of schools offers this same course in the US why are you picking this school.
(Truth is I just told him some jargons I can't remember. Then He looked at me like "e be like say this girl dey craze" and then he lost his cool).
I said why are you choosing a small school in the middle of nowhere in the US for your program? (and he looked straight into my eyes, I felt like disappearing but braced up).

ME: I want to become an Internal Communication specialist and media analyst for Multinational corporations and I have been working with Dr Jennifer Edwards from the university who is the Executive director of Texas Social Media Research Institute on a paper (he smiled and cuts me)
VO: Who will be sponsoring your trip?
ME: My aunt she owns chains of petrol and gas stations scattered all over Nigeria.

VO: Have you ever traveled out of the country before?
ME: No.

(He looked at the two papers looked at my face and just turned his face to his computer picked one paper without turning and he turned back and saw it was the white one, he gave me and told me to come get my visa blablabla, I didn't even hear the rest as I quickly grabbed the white paper and slipped out of the door before he changed his mind, you know you really can't rely on China tins ). JUST LIKE THAT, OLOWOGBOGBORO stretched forth my my white paper to me and that's how I got my visa!!! He never finish o!

SEASON FOUR: I want to specially thank everyone on this thread who has ever answered any question, God bless you. I don't feel bad about those that couldn't help me, an adage says "To catch a monkey, you need to climb the the tree" so I just take it as one life experiences. Vinci500, and Mr John thanks big time. Texrem, I throway salute for you, for the sacrifice of your holiday time and all God bless you big, and I need to go and fight MTN they were just slashing my credit anyhow. Please If you are waiting for interview, pray for favour and be bold but practice remember "Faith without works is dead". In all I give the ultimate thanks to God who favoured me all through.

Watch out for Season5 titled, "You will Share Your Own Transcript"! can I hear an Ameeeeen!

You call this crap? When did you travel? If it is not useful for you because you have travelled, it is better you fold your fingers and watch. I am sure a lot of students with visas are looking for money for the ticket; I don't know why the guy got in late, even though he should have left earlier. Your comment is totally irrelevant, and I hope you will modify it.
