How can a graduate express himself or his ideas confidently with this kind of treatment?Then after sometime they will churn out statistics showing that most Nigerian graduates re unemployable,how would they with this kind of treatment that demoralises and deflates their ego and self-worth.....

That Prof is a lunatic. I remember when he used to storm Henry Carr PG hall those days during my MSc. He is a sadist and was challenged severally by few PG students then.

So he is now a prof. Good for him.He taught me during my undergraduate days. He can never change. Thats just who he is.

Out of 100% profs in nigeria,98% are insane while only 2% are sane.

Some students deserve being beaten even been served wit punishment.

I'm a graduate of a Nigerian university and I can proudly say I participated in protests against the school authorities to bring progress to my department,our set did not leave my department the way we met it, lecturers literally got scared of us and dubbed us "small but mighty" because we always stood in unison, you can't succeed in life without killing fear of the unknown, or you don't know lecturers are also scared of students attacking them?, even armed robbers get scared because they know anything can happen, people only put fear in you so that you won't see their fears, if the whole class stood against him, he can't fail them all and would never try it again.

The best thing to do in this case is to stop them from entering his class, not to flog them.

Most university student are above 18 and that make them adults....I hope they realize that they can sue the professor for assault...
High time we stop acting like cowards and use our legal system to put back sense into our society ....

Thanks very much, you know him. I knew him way back in 1992, though he was not my lecturer. He is a jolly good fellow. His office used to be on the ground floor,but 4th floor or so now. He is a strict fellow, but with a lage heart.
