They were parked in front of her house.
The weather had become chilly and she had no coat with her so Phil had suggested they went home.

"It's okay. At least, I get to spend some time with you."

"Phil, how can you........"

"Like I said, it's okay. I understand everything."

"No you don't. You don't understand anything, you don't understand me. How can you think such of me? Alright. It's okay. I'll leave you now. If you think you're a pawn, then get out of my life, stop calling me, stop helping me, stop allowing me to use you." She cried.

She opened the door and stepped out, took a last look at the car and ran inside her compound.
She stopped in front of the entrance and wiped her tears. They won't see her like this. They'll never see a drop of her tear ever again.

She opened the door and walked in. There was nobody in the sitting room. She went straight up and got into her room quietly. She also didn't forget to turn the lock.

He looked at his wristwatch, it was 11;53pm and she was not yet back.
How could she have the mind to be doing this in his presence? She was driving him crazy with her actions and dressing.
He didn't know her to be cold hearted so what went wrong?
He looked at the sleeping figure beside him. He was confused but he would take a step first.
He got down from the king sized bed and left the room. He would wait for her to come back and they'd talk about all these. Somehow, he prayed that there should be a way out for him.

"Yes please. I need you here tomorrow. I'll be indoors throughout so I could use your company. Thank you."

She hung up. Thank God she called, at least, a plan was already in her head on what she could use her for.
She tied her nightwear to the side and left the room. She was hungry.

She made it downstairs and turned on the light only to see Michael snoring away.
She tapped him till he was fully awake.

"What is it? Do you want to turn my living room into your bedroom?"

He cleared his eyes and sat up. When did she come back?

"Please, don't sleep here again.'

"Uhm. I was actually waiting for you."

"Why? Isn't it enough that I'm still keeping you here? What do you want?"

"To talk Claire. I want us to talk."

She chuckled and turned away from him.

"If you want to talk, meet my lawyer. I can't talk to you because you're a sorry excuse of a man so if you wanna talk, go to my lawyer."

"Claire please. You know we can settle this thing between us without getting a third party involved."

She quickly turned to him.

'Right. Because it's Claire right? If I didn't come in contact with those papers, Micheal you and I know that you would have thrown me out of this house without waiting for your lawyer. Stop making me look like the guilty one. Stop it."

"Claire please....."

She looked away. She didn't want to see him cry because it would break her too.

"You started with your secretary, I forgave you. I still gave you a chance but you refused to stop. You took it to my sister and now, both she and my maid are pregnant for you."

"What?" Michael faced her. "What are you saying?"

"Ebere is carrying your child Michael. I regret that I ever fell in love with you. Read my lips Michael, I curse the day l set my eyes on you."

Without sparing him another glance, she left the room.
